SeaWorld should be banned due to cruel activities on animals like, the Killer Whale or otherwise known as Shamu. The Killer Whale is a massive animal and is adored by many because of its beautiful skin and size. In fact, the major reason SeaWorld was ever popular was because of this whale but the organization does not show the same compassion that many of the audience gives towards these animals. There are many reasons to show why SeaWorld should be closed down for good. One reason why is because of how these killer whales are captured in harsh conditions. For example, according to Dr.Newby “ Young calves were torn from their mothers inside the pens using speedboats and nets.” This is horrible for the Orca Family but also for the capturers. For the people that capture these orcas they have to live, knowing that they pretty much kidnapped a baby from its family. For the Orca family you can tell how badly they are hurt because “While being surrounded the orcas cried for help.” This is very sad due to the fact that these parents are crying for help to save their children only to get their babies taken away. No baby or animal should have to live with the harsh reality that they were taken from their family. …show more content…

The space given for these 8,000 pound animals is “very small and often compared to our bathtub.” Killer Whales swim mostly all day, swimming at least 100 miles a day. In Captivity these whales cannot swim this far no matter the laps. When a whale gets older they are punished even further. For example, according to the movie Blackfish when they get older they became larger and “no longer wanted to enter their pools.” Due to them not wanting to enter their pools the trainers would starve them. They would only feed them if the whales entered their pools
