William "Sean" Sernesky, formerly of Whatcom County, passed away unexpectedly, Monday, October 6, 2015 at his home in Surrey, B.C. Canada. Sean was 57 years old. Sean Sernesky was born May 10, 1958 in Terrace Bay, Ontario, Canada. He was the fourth child of William "Bill" Sernesky and Rosemary (McGrath) Sernesky. The family moved to California in 1965 and then later to Bellingham in 1971. Sean attended Bellingham Schools and began his lifelong career in the restaurant business. Sean was married in Whatcom County and this is where his children were born. Sean spent many years as a Manager for Denny's Restaurants, Mitzels Restaurants and the Calico Inn. In his younger years, Sean traveled to different parts of the country and worked on an opening team for Denny's. He later managed restaurants in British Columbia, Canada, Blaine and Bellingham Washington and Calgary Alberta, Canada. Sean was a hard worker and …show more content…

He enjoyed being with friends, driving his classic 1957 Chevy Bel air, watching his grandsons sporting events and the occasional game of chance. The thing that Sean enjoyed more than anything was spending time with his two daughters, Taylor Sernesky and Robyn Scott and his grandchildren, Israel Cortez, Marky Cortez and Ryder Scott. He constantly expressed to others how proud he was of his family and how much he loved them. Sean Sernesky was preceded in death by his parents William Sernesky and Rosemary Ollen-bittle and Step mother Georgina Sernesky. Sean is survived by his daughter Taylor Sernesky (Shawn Haugen), her son's Israel Cortez and Marquez Cortez of Ferndale, daughter Robyn Scott (Kory) and their son Ryder Scott also of Ferndale. Brothers Mike Sernesky (Bonnie) of Orville, California, Jimmy Sernesky of Amsterdam, Netherlands, Danny Sernesky of Abbotsford, B.C. Canada and Sister Sheila Lloyd (Mike) of Anacortes, WA.
