Seamanship is the art of operating a ship or boat. To operate a ship one have to know about navigation, general sea term, maritime law, weather, meteorology, operation of deck equipment, rope work, communication and safety at sea. Navigation is all about moving the vessel from one point to another point.
There are so many evolution have been happen to the ships, equipment used and navigation style. Now the ship officer has myriad of marine navigation equipment which makes his life a lot simpler compare to older times where the ship navigation officer had to take help of unconventional ways to plan and navigate a voyage at sea. In the traditional organization the seaman petty offices and seaman will divide within each sub-branch are divided equally between the parts of ship that give the advantage of preventing the tendency to exclusiveness and isolation and disadvantage of this method is it will make a conflict between the parts of ships and armament quarter. In the modern era seaman organization seaman will divide according to sub branch. In the newly designed life jackets it consist of small maritime battery that will give power to light up and transmit and receive SOS messages. It is also to protect from the weather and give flotation. The new life jackets also improved with pouches to contain watertight cells filled with kapok. That will provide flexibility and comfortable to the wearer. It also have some simulator to stimulating unconsciousness in freezing sea water. The routine in half holidays was set aside to repair and replace their kit but now it was replace with recreational and sport. Champlain was basically a sea man by birth. He was born into a family of sea captains and his father was a really good and experienced sea captain. His uncle went with him on his first trip. When he was a little boy, his hometown was filled to the gills with docks and huge ships which encouraged his love of boats and exploring. He also had to work for King Henry and do many other things containing maps and boats. He found the love of sailing and exploring because he had very good motivational things to push him along his journey.

Murphy’s law states that anything that can go wrong will go wrong. As someone who bears the name I can attest the truth in that statement. I have an extremely blessed life and do not endure the suffering that many people do on a daily basis. However, I have bizarre connections to small misfortunes and circumstances that follow me back as far as I can remember. Any acquaintance of mine will attest that things in my life never go as planned and anything that can happen will. Yet through a collection of misfortune, one can still find solace and benefit through their tribulation and see that negative experience could actually be positive.

Christopher Columbus is a name that has been spoken in every history class across the nation. He is known as one of the most important sailors in history. Columbus primarily sailed by using a type of navigation known as “Dead Reckoning”. Professionals in the United States Marine Corps stand apart from others engaged in particular careers in the civilian world.While many vocations contain some of the characteristics of professional, a lot of careers do not include all of the elements necessary to distinguish themselves as being as close to a professional as a marine. Professionalism grows depending on the time and service they have in the Marine Corps. A professional has specialized knowledge and skill which can only be acquired through prolonged education and experience. Such skill and experience form the basis of objective standards of professional competence that separate the practicing professional from their peers and measure the competence of such professional.
