I remember the time when I got my companion for life. Tucker is my dog and I have had him for ten years. That day my dad had suggested going to a Sea Dog’s baseball game. Of course being only 5 at the time I had no objection to this suggestion. We went to the game. When we were going to our seats one of the workers told us that after the game the players would be signing things. I go really excited about this. I had never met or gotten an autograph from a professional athlete before. In the bottom of the third inning one of the players hit a foul ball. As the ball fell it landed right on top of me. I started crying a lot and didn’t calm down until my dad distracted me with some ice cream. The only good thing I thought was I had a baseball to sign. The game ended as we made our way down to the dugout we were informed that there had been a mix up. The player’s aren’t signing anything.
We left the stadium disappointed and headed home. When I got home I marched right into my house. My face still wet with tears ready to whine to my mom. However before I got the chance I heard banging and whining. I knew something was off because it wasn’t normal for sounds like that to be in my house. I

However by that time I had lost all interest with what she was saying. Everything had become soundless because had I already started unlatching the create. All my interest was on the puppy. At first he was a little scared and didn’t want to come out. I repeatedly tried to pull him out which only helped with scaring him even more. I forgot all about my bad day and was so happy to have a puppy. All I wanted to do was play with Tucker constantly. In our house for the rest of the day all you could hear was barking and laughing. I was only five at the time and didn’t know how to play with Tucker. I just ended up hugging the little him a lot. Tucker was as small as a large mango. He could literally sit in my mother’s
Our journey starts in the year 1853 with four Scandinavian indentured servants who are very much slaves at the cold and gloomy headquarters of the Russian-American fur-trading company in Sitka, Alaska. The story follows these characters on their tortuous journey to attempt to make it to the cost of Astoria, Oregon. Our list of characters consists of Melander, who is very much the brains of the operation as he plans the daring escape from the Russians. Next to join the team was Karlson, who was chosen by Melander because he is a skilled canoeman and knows how to survive in the unforgiving landscape of the Pacific Northwest. Third was Braaf, he was chosen because of his ability to steal and hide things, which made him a very valuable asset to the teams escape. Last to join our team is Wennberg who we know is a skilled blacksmith who happens to hear about their plan and forces himself into the equation.
when I was ten years old I lost my grandpa, it was a very bad experience for me but it made me stronger. I remember when he taught me how to catch a baseball, ride a bike, mow the lawn and a lot of other things that I will forever cherish in my heart. the memory I will never forget though is when he taught me everything I needed to know about baseball. we would always go outside together and he would do certain agilities with me to build my stamina, teach me how to catch a pop-fly and he would work on pitching with me which is actually one of my main position that I play today. baseball was a big part of my grandpas life and he always wanted me to play In the major leagues. once he passed away my motives for playing in the major leagues increased.
She started going off about how she wanted to go outside and play. Mind you, there was a shower of rain going on. My uncle told her to be quiet. Five minutes passed and she started to whine again. Her dad was about to tell her something but he closed his mouth and handed her the newspaper he was reading. Mudpie yanked the newspaper out of his hand. She scanned the pages of the newspaper, looking for something. She seemed to have found it; I could tell by the way her smile grew wide.
We went down by the players to try to get an autograph, and I was right next to Charles tillman! The person next to me got his autograph but I got a high five. When I sat back down I felt the cold plastic from the seat. The game started and the sun started to come out. The warm rays shined on my side of the stadium so it got a little warmer.
In fourth grade I was 9 years old. At that age I didn't even think of playing sports. I was just like a normal 9 year old. So one day my auntie told me that one of her friends daughters is playing softball for Port City Girls Softball League. Then asked me if I would be interested to play. I answer saying sure I will try it out, so my auntie went and signed me up. So the way that league works is they have a draft to pick their players for their team. Then, the first practice started, I knew nothing about softball so I was brand new at all of it. When it came to one of the next practices one of my older sisters came to watch me and noticed my coach. It was one of her friends! Then my sister told me that one of the players
Several summers ago, I made my first All-Star baseball team for a local little league. When I heard that I was picked, I was overwhelmed with happiness. A lot of my friends and teammates in years past had made the team, but never me. I was finally selected by the head coach of the All-Star team, and considered it quite an honor.
The announcer began announcing our team to start the introduction for the game. Since I was the lead-off batter, my name was echoed over the park first. It was at this time that the feeling elevated; the feeling that makes every baseball field so special. As my teammates yelled for me, while I ran to the nearest baseline and faced the crowd, the feeling gave me goose bumps and raised the hairs on the back of my neck. The feeling is so amazing that it will keep me playing baseball for as long as possible because it makes my love for the sport that much more. I can't even begin to explain the complex feeling I get when I walk on a baseball field, but that feeling will always be cherished and hopefully when I pass on my love of baseball to others, they will too understand what that special diamond makes me feel like.
With seconds to spare I arrived at batting practice and began to prepare for my game. I hear coach call out my name and as I he acknowledged that I was there he told me I was pitching. My brain shifted and went into a whole new mode, I was more focused and more determined than I have ever been. This was the biggest baseball game of my career and I 'm starting on the mound. Honestly it couldn 't have turned out any better, the fate of the pin and my team lied in my hands and I loved the pressure. The pressure made me thrive and before I knew it our team was marching onto the field for the national anthem. During the singing of the national anthem I peeked into the crowd and first row down the first base side was the little boy I met on the cart and his dad sitting right next to him. This game was for that little boy, I needed to impress him. I pitched six strong innings and my team ended up winning the game. It was the most exciting game of my career and the best part was being greeted with the best pin in the tournament after such a spectacular win. The little boy ran out into the middle of the field where we shook our opponents hands and in front of everyone in the stadium handed me the only thing I cared about besides winning. I was in the best mood for the rest of the day and I rewarded myself with a nice long sleep. I could only image what the next day had to
Seabiscuit is a story about a thoroughbred horse who everyone thought would not amount to anything. He proved them all wrong when he showed that he had heart for what he loved, which was racing. The horse proved everyone wrong by becoming a champion. In some ways I believe that I relate to the story of hardship and struggle portrayed in the story especially being a Native American, young woman living on the reservation.
It happened during a warm night in volonia about to play a game . I was warming up in the outfield and I was warming up with a 12 oz baseball. Why was I warming up with a 12 oz base ball I don’t know? Ok back to the story. So me and another fellow teammate was throwing around a 12 oz baseball and when he threw it into my glove WHACK!! It hit me in the face and I was out cold for about ten seconds then my coach shook and almost had a heart attack. Everyone was freaking out because where the ball hit me it was a little close to my temple. So got up and me and my mom got in my truck and we went to conway to a hospital. When we got there I was hurting and a hour later i'm in the
I went to school tired from listening to my parents conversation at two in the morning. I had a great day. I didn’t want to go home. I didn’t want to hear the argueing. When I got home. My grandmother was at our house. I thought it was very strange. My grandmother never came over unless she was dropping off clothes or something. So I knew she was there for a reason and it wasn’t going to be good.
We spent the few hours before the game watching other match-ups as well as laughing while we managed our Fantasy Football teams amidst several abrupt cuts causing some fury and outrage among us. I then checked the time, it was five o’clock, what felt like one hour was actually three. My friends and I walked towards the stadium. The same distinct sound, smell and feeling from the morning felt as if it were amplified by ten. By the time we got outside the stadium. We passed many families, students and officers yet no sight of fans from the opposing team. Once we got into the stadium and found a seat in the boneyard, we waited for the game to start. The stadium in the matter of minutes was filled with a wave of purple dressed fans. I stood in my seat as the video on the video board played the welcoming video to Dowdy-Ficklen stadium. As I stood and watched, goosebumps consumed my body. There I stood, I was in awe at the sound of all the fans cheering as the band
The day Mom got Sugar was somewhat frightening for me. Obviously, I wanted nothing to do with the dog, I never planned to be in the same room as the dog, much less, take care of the dog. After all, Mom was supposed to take care of the dog. Slowly, I fell in love with her. She looked stern and loving. Her warm, brown eyes and pearly white smile only helped me fall in love with her. Not long after that I started to enjoy her company. Sugar was a loyal dog, she wanted to please everyone. When we went for a walk Sugar would come with us. We kept her on a leash, yet she never strayed from us.
Ever since I can remember I’ve wanted a dog. Never did I think that dogs would end up being by biggest fear. I was just a little kid around 6 years old when it happened. I was walking home from my friend’s house when I saw a stray dog, it was in the middle of the street blocking my way, I decided to walk past it, while I was walking it started growling at me, I hesitated but still kept trying to walk then suddenly it got up and started barking empathically towards me. I was terrified, my first initial reaction being a 6 year old kid was to scare it away, I was ignorant. I picked up a rock and threw it at the dog thinking it’ll get scared and run away. I was wrong. The dog had enough it made a whimpering noise then started barking even louder
One day after high school football practice my coach had come up to me and asked if I wanted to go to a football game with him. Of course, I said yes, but it did not cross my mind of what game I was going to watch. After I had said yes, he said that he got discount tickets the Penn State versus Ohio State football and wanted me to go with him. When he told me that it was for an Ohio State game, I was so happy that I could not get a smile off of my face. Not only had he offered me to go, but he said that my mom could with me as well. Later that night, my coach called my mom and told her about the news. She was very excited as well because she had been trying to plan a game for her and I to go, but finding time was difficult. The news that day not only shocked me, but my mom as well.
