What is scoliosis? Scoliosis is a musculoskeletal disorder that causes the back to curve sideways like and “S” or a “C” and cause the body to lean to one side. Scoliosis can eventually if not looked into and not treated colid with your bodily organs like your heart, lungs, and kidneys. This can cause you to slump down into a hump and cause it hard to breath and do physical activity.

Scoliosis is a condition that not many people have. It is a condition of the spine that makes the spine curve. Scoliosis is curable in three ways. Surgery,bracing, and dietary plans.


Scoliosis is found and diagnosed in many ways. Some ways it is found is looking at medical history, having physical examinations, and X-rays. Most cases are unknown, or caused by already diagnosed medical conditions like cerebral palsy and muscular dystrophy. Also another kind is idiopathic scoliosis. First, a dietary plan. This includes eating small healthy portions and being fit and active. Second, a body brace. Bracing helps straighten the back and prevent surgery. Third, have surgery. Surgery takes time but straightens your back quick. This is how scoliosis can be treated.

Scoliosis surgery is a hard thing to go thru. This surgery is usually conducted by two doctors and their assistants. The doctors purpose of conducting this surgery is to straighten the back. They do this surgery usually in three to four hours for medium to large cases. For someone with scoliosis to need this surgery their curve has to be between 30-50 degrees or more at the time of surgery. For the doctor to do this he/she has to go under the muscle and hold your backbone straight while screwing stainless steel metal rods in your back bone and then glues the large incision
