The use of school uniforms are a problem in the United States. They are completely useless that cost families and schools money for mandatory clothes.School uniforms affect a student's sense of style when they wear the same thing for 5 days a week. There is also a cost issue for the schools that make their students wear uniforms.Although school uniforms reduce peer pressure, they also highlight the social cliches they are supposed to eliminate, the use of school uniforms should be removed because they are a cost issue for the schools, they do not help prevent bullying, and they restrict a student’s first amendment rights.

They are issues for school because the school have to provide them, which means that they have to order them and pay for them. The families that pay for them sometimes start to go in debt to pay off the price for uniforms. This is important because the poorer families have a harder time paying for the uniforms. Lisa Runge also says, “My son private school requires students to purchase polo shirts with the school logo at a cost of $18.50 apiece, with an additional charge of $9.50 for shipping.This shows that school uniforms are outrageously expensive. You have to pay for shirts and pants that both cost the same price. School uniforms can cause problems with money. Some of the poorer families struggle to keep up with the costs as the start to rise. School uniforms start to take a toll by subtracting money for clothing that is worn for 5 days a week. It can become harder to provide for your family when you are paying so much money for your child.Even though school uniforms teach students discipline, they still can’t help with the cost issue for school uniforms.
