The sauk-fox tribe was originally two separate tribes, called the Sauk and meskwaki. The two tribes were related to each other, but they also spoke the same language. Than a war with the french almost took the Fox tribe out, so the tribe went to the Sauk tribe, for protection. To this day both tribes live together. As the Sauk and Fox tribe. (thesis statement???) Reservations are land that belong to the tribe. They make the rules, have its own government, police, etc. The reservation is just like a small country, but they have to abide the american laws. In the past, there were two leader, one that took care of war plans, like military and police, and they were elected by other warriors of the tribe, he was called the war chief . The other was passed down by the father, he took care of the domestic and diplomatic things, called a peace chief. A lot of the Natives, in the sauk-Fox tribe speak english, as their language is dying off. Many of the elder tribe members still know how to speak the Meskwaki-Sauk language. Though the children of the tribe do not know how to speak the language, but some of the tribe members are trying to keep their heritage alive. In the beginning, the tribe children did not have much time to play as they were busy helping the parents and doing chores. The children did have toys, the girls had dolls made out of cornhusks. Like many tribe the babies were carried on the mother's back in a cradleboard. The mosh is an awesome place in Downtown Jacksonville; where everyone can learn some interesting facts about our city, how the body works , what animals are in the ocean and etc. I visited the Timucua Indian exhibit; I learned a lot of intriguing information that I didn’t know before. I learned how the Timucua Indians first came about, how the Indians lived and survived during this time period. This exhibit also showed me how the Indians looked and the way they did things. Being able to learn about the Timucua Indians is so fascinating to me.

Throughout history, there has been a continuous movement of people, including European settlers and aboriginal tribes. The movement of these two groups of people has assisted in shaping and refining the world as we know it today. With each moving experience these groups of people had their own set of challenges and various difficult aspects present at various times throughout their journey. Across Canada and the United States there are many First Nations languages which are a part of the Algonquian language family, all of which with varying states of health. Although these languages share many characteristics of the Algonquian language family, the cultures, systems of beliefs, and geographic location of their respective Nations differentiate them. In being shaped by the landscape, cultures, and spirituality of the First Nations, the language brings the speakers closer to their land and traditions while reaffirming their identity as First Peoples. Using the Blackfoot Nation to further explore this concept, this paper will show that while language threads together First Nations culture, spirituality, traditions and land, as well as their identity, each of these essential components also maintain and revitalize the language.

Most of reservations are poor, but there still some of them are rich. Indian lands makes up 2.3 percent of the lands in the united States. Reservation life tells its own story. Many Indians and non-Indians think this story usually is the story of tragedy. Life on the rez is hard, violent, criminal, poor and short. By thinking about what they have lost and what they have survived, the conflicts between whites and Indians are more than Indians and Indians. This is one of the hardship in Rez life. Besides all these unfortunates, the Rez life is all right.
The earliest known records of the Cheyenne Indians are from the mid 1600s. They were a nomadic peoples whom lived completely off the land. Originally, the Cheyennes lived in larger masses, residing in homes they called wigwams. Eventually, as they became a nomadic peoples, they converted to the usage of a teepee as a home. A Cheyenne teepee was primarily made of buffalo-hide and could be easily moved form place to place, following along behind the buffalo herds. The hunting of buffalo was no easy feat, as the Cheyennes hunted on foot, with bow and arrow. However, the Cheyennes thrived on buffalo; their meat provided food, there hides provided warmth, and the bones allowed for bows, cooking utensils and toys. Also, the sinew made bowstring and sewing equipment.
