Rational for study: The purpose of this study is to create an app for young women in same sex relationships find and learn about safety planning when face with dating violence. This study is difference from other studies for it wants to find an app that can be put on individuals in same sex relationships’ phone, that can be easily accessible and can go unnoticed if they abuser goes through the person’s phone. Even though existing research show that women in same-sex relationship report more often than women is a heterosexual relationship do. The amount of research findings focusing on same-sex relationships, also same-sex relationship violence is even more of a smaller number. The need to further advocate against domestic violence especially same-sex violence is emense. Safety planning is an important tool needed for abused women to identify the risk of the increase of violence, their priorities, and resources that are available to them in order to protect themselves. Safety planning is one of them most helpful strategic to reduce the repeat of violence. Peer and bystander intervention has been increasingly presented on college campus in order to help minimize violence, and have others learn and know how to get take a stand when they see someone they are close with get involved in relationship …show more content…

Students interested contact the staff through a confidential email or phone number, the investigator determines eligibility through the method on how the student contacted the investigators, verbal informed consent was taken from all eligible participants after a detailed explanation about the purpose, benefits, and risks of the study. Individual interviews were scheduled either face to face in a safe private location or by phone, chosen by the participant. Verbal informed consent was taken again at the start of the interview, and participants gave permission to audio record the interview. Then the participants were provided an username and password to access the app, and given information about the app for instance resources that are in the app. Participant just needed to go through the app at their convenience and give their opinion on the app. Written consent and papers with the app information on it were given to every participant but all had the choice to take it or leave it behind, in case participants were in a domestic violent relationship. Any participants during this research project that told the investigators they were currently in an abusive relationship, were given referrals to intimate partner advocate
