Aristotle once said a friend is, “A single soul dwelling in two bodies” (1). Friendship is
an important factor in Sailor Moon, considering her friends have given their lives for Usagi’s
own life multiple times. Many may say that the popular anime and manga has created unrealistic
expectations of friendship, because not many people would risk their lives for their best friends.
But nobody says lives have to be given to show dedication to friends. Regardless, friendship
is something people in our world yearn for. Everyone wants someone to lean on, a shoulder
to cry on and a person to share smiles with. Usagi and her fellow Sailor Scouts could teach
everybody a little something about true friendship. Friendships go through hardships, laughter,
tears and many other experiences. Despite the sometimes annoyingly sweet nature of the series,
Sailor Moon does teach valuable lessons of friendship that apply in the everyday real life world
situations.
When two people become friends, they create a bond in which they can share
happiness and sadness alike. The two deal with each other and help each other as they were
meant to. Although ordinary friendships don’t literally save the universe as they do in Sailor
Moon, they may save each other’s own worlds when they comes crashing down. Friends are
supposed to lift each other up and brighten each other’s days when they are dark and gloomy.
For example, in the episode Day of Destiny, Sailor Moon and her fellow Sailor Scouts have a
huge battle to fight against the Doom ‘n’ Gloom Girls. They create allusions of people with great
significance to the warriors. Sailor Jupiter falls into the trap, upon her death, she gives words of
encouragement to Usagi as she is deva...

important it is throughout people’s lifetimes. Not only do friendships and committed partnerships
generate happiness, they also promote good mental and physical health. Arguments happen,
disappointments happen, loss happens, and many bad situations may arise through these
relationships, but one should never give up. Giving up shows weakness, and that’s not what
relationships are for. They exist to build emotional strength and stability. “Family relationships
shape our emotional health from our earliest days forward” (Gillian 3). Friends may not be blood
related but their loyalty makes them family. Usagi and her fellow Sailor Scouts also present this
family-like bond. Despite the sometimes annoyingly sweet nature of the series, Sailor Moon does
teach valuable lessons of friendship that apply in the everyday, real life world situations.
A friend doesn’t have to be a human, a friend can be anyone who cares. This story also taught
one to plot to kill. So they kind of need each other in a way.
next, yet each person shares a common bond, each hope for their own personal happiness.
Loyalty is a hard quality to find in a friend, so once loyalty is found that friend is usually in it for life. Faraway friends are the ones we find ourselves turning to in our darkest hour of need and the ones that we would step into battle with. Marion Winik perfectly explains the importance
Friendship is truly what separates us from the animals. Each true friend you find is truly a blessing and should be treated as such. Although we lived in different environments the boys from The Pact and I have learned and cherished this life lesson. Through tight friendship and perseverance one can achieve anything they set out to in life. Hopefully, my friends and I can take the examples set forth in The Pact and follow them all the way to success in our respective lives.
For all it shows for friendship and loyalty it also shows how sometimes you have to do things you
Let us first examine the similarities of friendship with that of happiness and virtue, which we discussed previously is the most necessary part of a happy life. Aristotle describes happiness by saying “happiness is most choiceworthy of all the goods (1097b17-18).” His idea of choiceworthy is something we choose “because of itself, never because of something else (1097b).” Friendship is seen as similar to happiness when Aristotle describes friendship as “choiceworthy in its own right (1159a27).” Proven earlier, virtue is necessary for a happy life because “happiness is a certain sort of activity of the soul in accord with virtue (1099b26-27).” Since virtue is such an integral part of happiness, the similarity between friendship and virtue is relevant to the relationship between friendship and a happy life. Aristotle describes virtues as “states (1106a14),” and at the same time describes friendship as “a state (1157b30),” as well. He goes on further to say, “Just as, in the case of virtues, some people are called good in their state of character, others good in their activity, the same i...

The friendships and bonds that formed in the jungles of Vietnam between the members of Alpha Company help them to survive on a day to day basis. Not only while they were “in country”, but in dealing with their lives back in the United States. Without the bonds of friendship none of them men of Alpha Company would have survived mentally or physically the strains and trauma of the Vietnam War.
So if you look at Aristotle’s ideas of what friendship is in the simplest way possible, I agree with him. But if you think about it in a more intricate way, observing every detail, I don’t think friendship can be broken down into three groups. Aristotle has some interesting points regarding each type of friendship, but when it’s viewed collectively, considering the many elements along with it, I don’t think his three categories cover all the potential ideas about friendships.
The depictions of women in films have changed in time with society to ensure the films popularity.
There are many valuable things in life like family, sports, school but what about friendship? To live life without friendship is something no one should ever go through. Friendship is a necessity to living a successful life. Friendship occurs when someone is a supporter, gives assistance, and is attached to someone all the while genuinely taking care of them when they are hurt (The definition of friend, 1995-2002). A good and healthy friendship can be defined fro individuals as when someone has his or her own support system, a friend being loyal, and will always have genuine and mutual trust.
One of the most important details in a friendship is to never leave or forsake the other. A friend is also loyal, for example in the movie Lord of the Rings, Froto and Sam Wise had a wonderful fellowship. They lived in peace and in one accord. Also in the movie, gandalf sent froto on a mission. Froto was scared and he didn’t want to go on the journey by himself.

Friendship is one of the most important things you can get out of life. It’s something that everyone has to have because without it, we would all go insane. Just think if no one talked to each other and we never made friends, this world would be a ticking time bomb. Studies say humans need friendships and love to survive. So friendship is a big part of your life.
