When it comes to your community or neighborhood, make sure to pay attention to details such as the regular comings and goings of your neighbors and others in your community. If you notice anything out of the ordinary or something just seems to be off, make sure to contact the proper authorities. Remember – a safer neighborhood leads to safer homes!
Another great way to ensure a safe neighborhood is get to know all your neighbors and people who live in and around you. By getting to know your neighbors, you will get to know their daily schedule. Conflicting feelings among neighbors can create mistrust, and resentment.” (Wood). the neighborhood neighborhood leave anything there neighbor says anything having to do with the community. Therefore, these people don 't feel safe in their own neighborhood and
West Orange is a suburban township that’s located in central Essex County, New Jersey, United States. The district of West Orange is highly involved with the community, the safety of the citizens involved and try to interact with them as in activities too. Many residents/citizens move from different townships into West Orange because it’s considered as a safe environment especially, for good school standards for children. As in, when someone asks, “In what city do you live in?” and your response would be West Orange. In their opinion they would suggest it’s a good community to live in and especially how the Police Department and officers are highly involved within the community.
It is not appropriate environment to rebuild the healthy society because the neighborhood level of characteristics affect the individual who lives in. A very good place to start learning with people from your neighbors who are always belong to your daily life such as co-worker, classmates, or boss, who are not living in street or building. They are also your neighbor too and we do not really know everyone who they are specifically and they are also willing to share the experience with other. They are more secure than your neighbor because you can not only easy to access the personal information, but also you can trust someone who is able to communicate in your daily life than who is living nearby your house. Consequently, I disagree with Peter’s ideas which examples and explanation is not proper to making a good social community with neighbor. The neighbor is matter because it is not good environment to trust our neighbor today and may cause many negative impacts with our live or both of us such as emergency situation and social communication, is not we did not try to know the
safe things to do to protect yourself or anyone else from possible harm. As many
The article Understanding Safe Enough describes how we determine wether something is safe enough. The general idea behind how to determine what is safe is wether the alternative has the best risk to cost ratio. Although at first this seems fairly simple to determine their are risks to both using and not using technology. Also when the risks and advantages are equal then one has to consider what the optimal amount of use is because we might want the benefits the technology confers. Because determining what is the best option depends on a risk-to-benefit ratio the best level of risk depends on the various alternatives and is never an extreme of having almost no risk and exorbitant costs or vice-a-versa. The most important thing to remember is
Walking down the street you would recognize about every friendly face to be your neighbor. It’s an “everyone knows everyone” type of setting. Everyday you see the same people, same time, going about their usual routine. Parents, knee deep in places they have to run their children, children driving their parents off the walls, all the usual.
Another important way of making sure that your home is safe is to pay attention to all entry and exit points as well as windows and deck doors. If you live in a complex, pay attention to all stairwells, fire exits, as well as entrance and exit points. Make sure that windows with easy entrance points such as those on the ground floor are locked at all times or for even more sense of security, barred. Also make sure all deck and patio doors are locked unless you are using them. These small steps will ensure that your home is a safer home.
Nosy neighbors tend to be the ones you have to be extra careful with. Usually, they are the older people who live off of younger people and their events in life. However, nowadays they are mostly middle aged folks who like to be private and are quiet but like watching every move of the neighborhood. Nosy neighbors definitely show how they are not even ashamed of letting you know they know your business. You will notice it without being aware, that they are always standing on their porch or stare through windows – the curtain wide open and as you look the curtain is barely falling into place – its plain as day. Some are even brave enough where the...
Safety is a primary concern in the health care environment, but there are still many preventable errors that occur. In fact, a study from ProPublica in 2013 found that between 210,000 and 440,000 patients each year suffer preventable harm in the hospital (Allen, 2013). Safety in the healthcare environment is not only keeping the patient safe, but also the employee. If a nurse does not follow procedure, they could bring harm to themselves, the patient, or both. Although it seems like such a simple topic with a simple solution, there are several components to what safety really entails. Health care professionals must always be cautious to prevent any mishaps to their patients, especially when using machines or lifting objects, as it has a higher
By now, via media reports and word of mouth you must be aware of the significant increase in house break-ins in this neighborhood over the past couple of years. In fact, the break-in rate has more than doubled over the past three years. According to the police this is just a sign of the times changing as the economic downturn continues and local businesses and factories continue to close their doors for good.
Conversely, police officers may suggest that there are citizens that don’t do their part to make their neighborhoods safe, which takes us back to Sir Robert Peel. Unfortunately, when the police try to empower people to be accountable, and to do their part, the interpretation is that the police are avoiding their responsibility. In any case, understanding there is work to be done by both, the police and citizens is the first step. Now, implementing the processes to make the corrections needed is merely a start.

Defense Some survival scenarios could force you into a position of defending yourself, your home and your family. The best defense according to any survival skills guide is a good offense. Set traps, plant handy weapons out of sight that you can get to if you are away from a secured area and of course build a secured area. Homes make poor defenses. They have too many ways in and out. A good defense means you have a single point of entry and an emergency exit. That’s it. Prepare a good defense by having long handled weapons with pointed ends or a good rifle or gun. The first is preferable as it won’t run out of bullets. A good offense also means being creative about hiding. Dig a pit and cover it with wood and cover it with brush, dirt or whatever camoflauge is at
A hazard is defined as an activity or object that has the potential to cause harm if contact is made with the person, object or activity (MHS, 1996; Harmse, 2007; HSE, 2006). These hazards in a work place need to be identified and dealt with accordingly to prevent any harm to employees or any individual acquainted to a certain activity or establishment. The key roles and principles of occupational hygiene are Anticipation, Identification, Evaluation and Control (Schoeman and van den Heever, 2014; Harmse, 2008; SAMTRAC, 2012). To practise in accordance to the above principle; a hazard identification and risk assessment needs to be conducted. Anticipation is the foreseeing of the activity
