“Gentrification refers to trends in the neighborhood development that tend to attract more affluent residents, and in the instances concentrates scale commercial investment.”(Bennet,).This means that gentrification can change how a neighborhood is ran or even how much income the community takes in depending on what businesses come in and what class of people decide to invest into that community. All Star word prose because pros seem to outweigh the cons. a pro from gentrification “ the migration of wealthy or people into depressed neighborhoods is a restoration and use of dilapidated buildings, which can have positive spillover effects throughout the community.” (Grabinsky ). this means the people come into the community and start gentrification/ urban renewal process it can act as a chain reaction to more wealthy people coming in to change the community for the better. another pro concerning gentrification is that “ smart gentrification policies may be a good strategy to turn around critically poor neighborhoods in ways that benefit the original population.”(Grabinsky). this quote refers to changing things and really trashed and poor places in order to build that community back up and make make it a better place for the people who have already been living there most of their lives.
