(AGG) Some people like Najmah have to survive on her own but the things that she did to prevent her from dying was a thing to remember. (BS-1) Before Najmah lost her family members and in her heart she was more responsible with her chores and she protected her family and friends. (BS-2) Najmah is making sacrifices that can put herself in danger. (SIP-A) Using resources to protect her. (BS-3) Although Najmah was deeply affected by loss, she has evolved into a stronger person. Najmah wouldn't go back with her uncle because she remembered what father said “don't let uncle get anywhere near the land.” She does this by leaving the kitchen and getting protected by Nusrat. He will send me away and he will take my father’s land (Staples 216).” Uncle wants to marry Najmah for her father's land, but Nusrat is helping her to prevent that from happening. (STEWE-2) Another example is, “ But I have no one else to trust and no other choices (Staples 199).” Najmah has to trust Nusrat because she is the only person that is willing to help her and she has no other choices.
