It’s the year 5013 & Robin is looking through her telescope from her new home planet, Mars. Today was the last day that human kind could be on planet Earth. Due to increasing global warming over the years, Earth was halfway melted, making the core visible & unfit for human life. Robin took her last look at Earth as she packed away her telescope and thought about how her new life would be. Global warming is the gradual increase of the overall temperature of Earth’s atmosphere. It involves the planet as a whole & the people who may cause extreme heating, such as factory workers or people who burn coal. It happens daily, in any place in the world. Global warming has many causes and effects, such as how the sun heats the earth, how climate change affects the atmosphere, how axis tilts affect the seasons, how humans and global warming affect each other, and what global warming actually is.
What is global warming? According to the Natural Resource Defense Council, “Carbon dioxide and other air pollution that is collecting in the atmosphere like a thickening blanket, trapping the sun’s heat and causing the planet to warm up” (“Natural Resources Defense Council”). This shows that global warming is caused due to the fact that harmful gases such as Carbon Dioxide escape into the atmosphere and capture all of the sun’s heat; keeping it secure. This causes the planet to get warm. Coal burning power plants are the main cause of global warming (Natural Resources Defense Council). Power plants and factories give off gases that pollute the air and cause disruptions in the atmosphere. These gases taint the atmosphere, making it thicker and causing it to contain more heat, also warming the earth. These intense heating conditions lead to w...

...r and more frequent, creating more storms and natural disasters. Thermal pollution is the heating of a body of water which additionally causes stronger hurricanes (Regents Earth Science). On the other hand, CFC’s, greenhouse gases, and automobiles are causing Antarctic ice to melt (Regents Earth Science). This shows that humans affect indeed do affect the global warming process, and vice versa.
As can be seen, global warming can affect the planet in many ways. Global warming has many causes and effects. The process in which the sun heats the earth can affect earth’s temperature. Climate change affects the overall atmosphere. The planet’s axis tilt effects the seasons & the temperature of the planet at that time. Also, humans and global warming affect each other. What would the people of the future do if planet earth were melted in half and unfit to live in?
