No matter what race, religion, sexual orientation, age, or gender people will always fall in love. One of the reasons “Romeo and Juliet” has become the ultimate love story, is that everyone can relate to true love. Shakespeare knew that everyone falls in love so he wrote about what people could truly understand. Shakespeare was able to create a love story that is exciting and heartbreaking but still believable. Throughout the play some recurring themes are love is all consuming, teenage rebellion, and a hatred to those different than you. Love is definitely something that is a big part of many cultures today. Everyone will love someone or something in their life, making it easier to connect to the story. Another important theme in “Romeo and Juliet” is teenage rebellion or teenage struggle. The idea that teenagers defy and have a hard time listening to their parents.
