“Destiny is not a matter of chance, it is a matter of choice”. In the play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare two young lovers take their lives. After falling in love, Romeo and Juliet discover that their families are sworn enemies. The “star-crossed lovers” continue their relationship secretly, until complications make suicide a choice. Frair Lawrence should not be blamed because he had Romeo and Juliet’s best interest at heart. Romeo and Juliet’s impulsive and irresponsible actions let to their own tragic deaths.

Romeo’s feelings greatly impacted the outcome of the story. His impulsiveness caused him to fall in and out of love too fast. In the beginning of the story, Romeo was heartbroken and depressed about his “love”, Rosalyn. However, Romeo met Juliet a couple days later and immediately forgot about Rosalyn. When Romeo saw Juliet for the first time he said “Did my heart love till now? Forswear it, sight! For I ne’er saw true beauty till this night.” (1. 5. 51-2) This proves Romeo was never truly in love with Rosalyn or he would not have gotten over her so quickly. After o...
