In most romcom movies the characters are dressed very relaxed unless they’re attending a special occasion and very minimal makeup is used. In this Joy wears, very formal blue dress which emphasizes her business side. All the characters are dressed quite formal in this scene, this adds to the feel of a therapy meeting. The colours of a romcom are very saturated. Colours are bright and bold. We can see this in the bright blue colour of joys dress. There office consist of warm natural colours and gives a homey feel. Each character is very well lit. There are no extremely dark shadows or any overly exposed areas.

Joy and jack are the complete opposite of one another but still fit so well together. The movie relates to every convention of a romcom. Joy and jack face many conflicts in their unwanted marriage but at the same time they realize that being together actually helped them to deal with their own individual issues. They helped each other to grow. that’s what made them such a good couple. In the beginning, we know that Jack and Joy did not get along at all but the more the story progressed the more the audience can predict the outcome. In a romcom it is often expected that the two characters come together, confess their feelings for one another and then land up living happily ever after. However, in this film the Jack and Joy never leave each other, they are forced to deal with their issues while living together and this lead them to see how much they care about each other. In the end, like a typical romcom, Jack and Joy do confess their love to one another and land up living happily ever after, 3 million dollars
