I recently wrote Romans 12:1-2 out on a hot pink index card, it is hanging at eye level in my work area where I can read it every day. Transformation has been on my heart and in my head for over three years now. As a believer, I am drawn to it, I crave it, and I know God wants it in every area of my life. I also believe in the transformation process God wants us set apart which means “we are not to be conformed to this world.” We are to be different, our lives should show it by how we act, speak, and in the things, we listen to, read, or watch. People should know us by our actions.
Gardner’s eight “intelligences” are different from the Holy Spirit’s gifts. I can see where someone could confuse this comparison, however, the “intelligences” are

These are phases that we go through as Christ Followers as well. We are called to be dynamic so that people can see Christ alive in us. In order to do that, we must allow God and Christ to change our perception to match the reality to which He has called us. He accomplishes this through His Own ways, and we must remain malleable like clay in His hands. He is the potter, and we are called to trust Him. He always makes beautiful pots that abundantly hold the Spirit! The Author has created the grandest plot in the most mind-blowing tale of all time. The study question thus arises; are we willing to accept change and be the character He has designed for us to be? The answer is written clearly in our lives.

The definition of intelligence that is explained in the book is having certain attributes that help you become a stronger individual. The qualities are having honesty, ethics morals and compassion. One has to achieve this intelligence thoughtlessly; Charlie shows this before he has his operation. Howard Gardner’s theory contains eight main multiple intelligence. As the years have progressed there have taken one out and is left with the main seven. These seven are: Linguistic, Mathematical, Spatial, bodily, Musical, Interpersonal, and Intrapersonal. These are found in everyone; however, each person will excel in one or two. Once teachers can determine what intelligence the students will exceed on and teach to their strengths the student will learn much more.
Charles Spearman's model of intelligence and Howard Gardner's multiple intelligence theory are two of the most widely used theories of intelligence. In order to understand how similar the two theories are we must first understand their differences. These two men differed in opinion on how IQ and intelligence should be measured, and they differed in opinion on what made a person "smart". In order to examine these things they first had to understand the human brain and how it works. They had to examine the human study habits and rituals, along with the human test taking habits.
In reality, people are a combination of most every single one of the intelligences and certain intelligences blend into one another. Christ, however, redefines the person’s status—replacing the person’s identity of death with that of new life and releasing the person from the dominion of sin. In Romans 6:1-14, Paul rejects continuing in sin on the grounds that doing so denies the proper identity and belonging that Christians have in Christ’s death and life. Moreover, Paul asserts that belonging to Christ’s life means rejecting identity with sin’s dominion.
Gardner’s Theory of Multiple Intelligence focuses more on how numerical expressions of human intelligence are not a full and accurate depiction of people’s abilities (McFarlane, 2011). He includes and describes eight intelligences that are based on skills and abilities that are valued within different cultures. The definition of intelligence becomes even more complicated when one considers the work of Howard Gardner. Gardner claims that intelligence can not be defined with one definition because intelligence is not one thing. Is it a one-time experience or a lifetime process? If we were honest with ourselves, most of us would agree that it’s a lifetime process. The challenge lies in how do we “transform” our minds? The Cambridge dictionary defines the “transform” as “to change completely the appearance of character of something or someone, especially so that that thing or person is improved.” The Greek word for “transform” is “metamorphoō” which comes from two words “meta” meaning “change” and “morphe” meaning “form.” Otherwise, it means “to change into another form.”

Ringer’s focus on broken relationships being mended is what almost transitioned my thoughts from changing the system, to changing individual’s mindsets. Jesus asked that we forgive those who have trespassed against us. Through the readings from James Cone’s, God was displayed a being who was angry with the oppressor. With this mindset of mending broken relationships, it appears more closely with Jesus’ request for us to forgive others. My conclusion is now stated to not only change the system, but also change our mindsets as Romans 12:2 stated “Don 't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God 's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” (Biblegateway).
