Helping people by giving a solid education is a fantastic opportunity for students at Rocky Run Middle School to graciously portray themselves. Rocky Run’s Homework Helpers program not only enhances a student’s learning, but it helps a tutor review forgotten concepts, and it helps the tutor remember the topic better. This is due to the fact that requires loads of research to be done to prepare the lesson for the tutee, and while researching, one has to take detailed notes, so that they would be prepared for the lesson. Moreover, several studies show that when something is written, it is stored in a person’s long term memory. Furthermore, “Helping people in need is a good and essential part of my life, a kind of destiny”, mentions the late Princess Diana of Wales. These qualities are extremely significant because the quality that the tutee receives is the most important. Tolerance and patience are among my many qualities, which can help me deal with kids when they fail to understand a concept. In addition, I am kind and understanding towards other kids. By containing these qualities, the students would actually look forward to learning new things. Furthermore, I am an extremely encouraging tutor. Being encouraging is the most important quality that a tutor should possess. When excessive homework is assigned, teachers often overlook that this can affect their interpersonal skills. When the opposite occurs, students have a major risk in forgetting the material and its processes. I appreciated the approach that the article took presenting both sides without distorting their views. The article counted with important individuals in the field of education and psychology who expressed their views based on their extensive work of research. I agree with Campbell in the sense that decision of assigning homework is very personal and is based on each educator’s individual teaching style. The article implies how the freedom that many school districts gives to educators give them a greater say in how they manage their classrooms. The decision making about homework allows educators to grow as professionals because they are able to have control and responsibility in how they impart their lessons, consequently gaining experience.
