Morals from the Past

Memories of the past is shown throughout the environment. It is as simple as looking into the eyes of your father. As people proceed in their lives, they encounter moments, affecting them deeply. Sometimes, a discharge of memories occur, showing a recognition of righteousness in people. In the short story, “Aero Bars”, by Robert Hilles, the narrator acknowledges his father’s love through the recalling the past. By reminiscing past memories of memorable values or behaviours, one is able to develop a moral conscience. Moral intentions can be explored while contemplating bits of memories. As the narrator reflects upon his past relationship with his father, he starts to acknowledge his father’s virtuous actions. During the time when the narrator visited his father in a hospital, he is reminded of the aero bars given to him by his father, after being burnt by a fire. I was introduced to a community of people during my experience in a Christian camp. Each had their own unique set of personality traits, physical appearance, and skills. Many of them became a friend of mine, who I personally can relate to. They made my experience enjoyable and memorable, and I treasured each moment, whether it is chatting during breakfast or sitting with them during campfire. As the days passed by, my time with them became shorter. On the last day, leaving my friends was challenging, even a simple good-bye was demanding. As I left, I thought about my experience with them, making me realize people’s morality (both morally wrong or right). For most, they were morally right, such as supporting each other, but there were some that wasn’t, for instance showing hatred towards other people.
