From “What happened to that one guy,” to, “The Godfather of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.” Robert Downey Junior has led one of the most awe inspiring turning points in his life in Hollywood and reinvented himself away from his history of substance abuse and has become the face of Marvel and a hero to many despite the trials and tribulations. RDJ, born on “April 4, 1965, in New York, New York” (Cunningham 2018), comes from a family of actors and directors, his parents were Robert Downey Sr. and Elsie Ford. Robert Downey Sr. was formerly Robert Elias, a Jewish-Irish New Yorker, who changed his name to his Step-father’s when he wanted to serve in the U.S. Army but was too young to enlist. After he saved himself with a box of scraps he turned his life around and became Iron Man to redeem his past mistakes as a weapons monger. Robert Downey Jr is a less intense version of that, his terrorist kidnapper being his drug addiction and his turn around is also becoming a “Genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist.”(Avengers 2012) with his portrayal of Marvel’s Iron Man. He’s grown to be one of Hollywood’s best A-list actors and has mentored almost all the incoming Marvel actors. Robert E. Lee was the best General for the South, and out smarted every Union General that was put against him. To The South, Lee is like a godly figure to them. He inspired The South even when the North controlled the battlefield, and is still thought highly of by some people in the confederate states. To the North, Lee was a traitor and even lost his citizenship. Although he lost, Lee is still a giant face in history.
Important civil rights movement leader During the 1960s there were many civil right movement activists such as Cesar Chavez. Cesar Chavez was born on March 31st in the North Gila River Valley outside Yuma. During his years, Chavez has accomplished many things that have changed farm laborers for the better. When he was young, his family lost their farm due to the Great Depression and they became migrant workers. They had to move to several different places so that they could find work, which meant that every time they moved, Chavez had to change schools.

Ruby Bridges is one of the very many people who has changed history. Bridges has helped desegregate schools all around the world. She still stands today, sharing her thoughts and ideas to stop racism and segregation. Ruby’s life has had many ups, and downs, but she still seems to look on the bright side in almost every situation. Whites threatened and harshly criticized brave, confident, heroic American activist, Ruby Bridges for being one of the first African-American children to enter the William Frantz Elementary School, a school for white students, which helped end segregation in schools. Without Ruby Bridges, our schools may still be segregated to this day.
Shelton Jackson Lee was born in Atlanta, Georgia March 20, 1957. Born to teacher Jacqueline Carroll and jazz musician William James Edward Lee, Shelton grew up in Brooklyn, New York where he was provided with a rich cultural upbringing that included plays, movies, and music (Gale 1). At a young age, Lee was nicknamed “Spike” by his mother who noticed his rough nature and the nickname stuck well into his adult life. He attended Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia where he gained an interest in film and then graduated with a Bachelors degree in Mass Communication. For many people, Michael Jordan is considered the best basketball player to live on the planet. For his whole career, he only played for two different franchises, the successful Chicago Bulls, and the improving Washington Wizards. This amazing player had a couple of large breaks in his career, he retired three times in all, but the first two time he had retired from the league, he returned to the NBA in nearly 3 years each time. After he retired, he played baseball in the MLB, but figured that he was meant for basketball then eventually returned to the NBA. He had astonishing stats in the regular season of the NBA and the playoffs. Michael Jordan is one of the greats because of several different statistics and accomplishments that prove his brilliance.
