Road Trips are normally a great time for me and my family. Until March 15 th 2015 when the road trip home ended very bad. My 18 year old brother and his two friends, Austin, and Colton were going to a concert up in Springfield Missouri. Me, my friend, my mom, and Colton's mom all drove in a separate car, then the boys, because they couldn't stay in a hotel by themselves. The concert was on Saturday night and we were leaving Sunday morning. Sunday rolls around and it's time for us to head home because me and my friend had softball practice that evening. From downtown to my house it's about an three and a half hour drive, so we left before the boys were out of bed. We go to get breakfast at a doughnut place downtown. By the time we were leaving the …show more content…
We headed our journey home around 10;00. Me and Kelsey, my friend, were both sleeping in the back seat after about a hour drive out of town. While my mom is driving her phone rings. It wakes me up, but i was still lying down. My mom answers the phone and has a terrified look on her face. I sit up really confused about what's going on. She starts saying stuff like is everyone okay and what happen? I tapped on kelsey's shoulder to wake her up so she could listen. Her more confused than me with both start freaking out. It was my brother on the phone. They had gotten in a car accident. The only information we had was they were t boned really bad and they were downtown. We were on a highway so it took us a while too get turned around, but once we did, we had about an hour drive back even though it ended up quicker than that because of my mom's panicked driving. I couldn't help but to cry knowing that my brother and friends were injured. The car was very tense and
Out of the 12 months of the year, students basically only have about two months to have fun and not worry about school. As a teenager, you do things without predicting the outcome. We tend to not always listen to our parents and sometimes end up in terrible situations.
It is 2:20 in the morning when the phone rings. You are automatically startled and jump to pick it up after the second ring. That feeling in your stomach tells you that something is terribly wrong. It is the police on the other end of the line telling you that your daughter has been in a fatal accident. As the officer is talking, you seem to freeze and zone out. Your spouse is up now and takes the phone and talks to the officer to find out what is going on. You are in a state of shock as you both drive to the hospital so that you all can identify your daughter. When you become more coherent, you learn that a senseless fool who was drunk took your precious baby away from you. This is one phone call that parents all over America go to sleep praying every night that they will not get. It is horrifying to learn that your child has been in a car accident, but if the cause of the accident was a drunk driver then it is even worse. This is so because you know that it was someone’s choice to drink and drive and this led to the death of your child.
I've been four wheeling since I was about three. Id say its pretty fun when you're not busy crashing. My favorite thing about four wheeling is having the wind blow in my face, it makes me feel free in a way. When i'm with my family four wheeling nothing can stop us so you better watch out. My best experience while riding a four wheeler was when I was about nine my grandpa and my four year old sister were together on one four wheeler and I was on my own we were riding down the road when my grandpa said “ Aryona do you want to go down there?” i was a little scared at first, but he told me it would be okay, so i said “yes.” Once we got down there I was happy I decided to go because It was awesome! One of my favorite things about
That night I was disoriented. My mother wasn’t home and I wanted to call her but I couldn’t recall her number,
I woke up Tuesday morning excited for the day I was going to spend with my mom. I was sitting at the kitchen table drinking fresh coffee listening to my mom and aunt tease and joke around about how paranoid my mom was about doing well in her classes, my aunt was telling her that maybe now that I was there, she would relax a little bit and have some fun. Our plan was to go to one of mom's classes with her, and then on a tour of UNC and then we were going to go to dinner and a movie.
After a night of talking and enjoying our time out, we drove home to watch and movie and go to bed. One our way home, I recall seeing an ambulance rush by us, heading towards Portland but we did not think anything of it. So, we got home and went upstairs to go to bed. The morning was when we found out what had happened.

That was one of the worst rides of my life. Rachel and her mother told me my grandma had passed out at church. Rachel had tried to run and catch me before I left, but it was too late, I was already gone. A million thoughts raced through my mind such as was she hurt or would she have to stay in the hospital a while, but death never crossed my mind.
She told me that mom needed to tell me something. She proceeded to tell me that my father had had a heart attack and that I had a choice to come down to the hospital or not to come. She told me it was a scary sight, and if I didn?t think I could handle it that I should stay home. I was overwhelmed with fear and grief at that moment that my mind just stopped working. I remember thinking all I wanted was to be with my mom and my dad.
My father's eyes opened, and he called out for my sister Kelly and I to come to him. In a very serious and sad voice, he told us that he was very sick, and he was going to the Fort Wayne hospital. My mother told Kelly and I to help her pack some things for him, because he was going to be leaving soon. We helped her pack, keeping quiet because we did not want to interrupt the silence that had taken over the room.
bad as I expected it to be. The queue seemed to flow by. Like fish in
My mom wakes me up. First of all, I took my binocular. It is expensive but on my constant demands, or to be true requests, I am lucky enough to get it. I hear the siren and shouted “The jeep has arrived. Let’s go!”
In early November around 2 years ago I was having a normal sleepover with my friend Mataya. We were always messing around and never took things too seriously. Her mom came home from work and looked very upset but I couldn’t tell what was wrong. She was very quiet and went straight into her room which was extremely odd for her. At 9:32 that night I got a call from my mom and I could tell from her voice that she was crying.
While the weather was good I decided this was the best time as any to get back on the road. So I rocked myself up and threw my pack over my shoulder. “Heading off?” Allen asked.
My mom and I arrived at my great aunt’s house in Ely, Nevada at around dinnertime. We both decided it was time to get some sleep due to our long drive. My mom had asked me to wake her up if my dad did not call or arrive by midnight. She was obviously very tired from driving and I had slept most of the way anyways. I could tell my mom was very worried about my dad because he was traveling on his Harley Davidson, and the roads were dangerous. My innocent ten-year-old mind did not think anything bad could happen,
