The outlook of a dominant right brain visual person is sporadic and frantic at times but can serve beneficially because of the advantages that right-brained people have due to specific learning styles that allow these individuals to excel in and outside the classroom.
Right brain visual individuals grasp information and skill alternatively to other brain types. Through practice and doing right brain visual people can retain information more effectively than the traditional method of auditory learning. When shown a task a right brain visual person can easily remember how to do the task. When being visually right-brained one is better at recalling imagery over names. Right brain visuals tend to be intuitive problem solvers and are less systematic.
When trying to understand something right-brained people lean towards lumping and looking at similarities for better understanding, where left brain people look for differences. The process that a right visual brain works from an outside view can come off as disorderly but this doesn’t mean that these individuals can not excel, in fact it actually is the opposite. Right brain visual people are a dance recital because dance can be spontaneous and free but also structured and orderly. Dance can be exceedingly demanding and has a range of different moves and poses. Similar to the right brain visual’s work ethic, when these types of people take the time to structure the order together the results are exemplary. People learn dance through observed learning that stems from visual learning itself. Dancing involves expression and release of emotion similar to a right brain person’s unrestricted feelings. These individuals can thrive through learning styles that cohere to their brain type. With the assistance of visual learning techniques a right brain visual person can greatly succeed in and outside the classroom. Traditional auditory learning isn’t always the answer for every brain type, leading to trouble remembering specific facts or information. Converting auditory into visual materials can easily help a struggling visual learner succeed. Using visual tools such as pictures and diagrams, highlighted notes, and handwritten flashcards can give right brain visuals an upper hand at better understanding information. These types of people best succeed studying alone in a quiet place.If a right brain individual was given a hushed area to work with all these tools, it would give them the greatest advantage making them the most successful brain type.
During the event I learned a variety of information that relates to our biology and human relation classes. Through this seminar I was taught that our personalities are all related to neurology and that each person has more prominent personalities. The left side of the brain is the side that associates with the facts, data, order, and logic. On the other side of the brain, the right half of our brain is associated with creativity, ‘big pictures’, and independence. Finally, the event taight me to be satisfied with my personality color and to embrace my stregths and weaknesses.

Hemispheric dominance is a popular theory that has become a hit outside of the scientific community. It receives information from all sensory systems and can integrate a large amount of information (Kalat 2004). Studies have shown that the prefrontal cortex is responsible for working memory. Working memory is defined as "the information that is currently available in memory for working on a problem" (Anderson 2005).
Mirror neurons have been one of the most exciting neurological discoveries in recent years. Some researchers have even gone as far as comparing the discovery of mirror neurons to DNA. Mirror neurons may be analogous to other human sensory systems and some believe that mirror neurons represent their own unique sensory system. Mirror neurons fire when a person or animal performs certain activities as well as when they watch another perform the same activity (Winerman, 2005). Basically, they allow animals and humans to imitate and possibly even learn from others. While the original studies were conducted in monkeys, recent research has extended the theory to humans and other abilities outside of basic motor movements. In this paper, research on mirror neurons in humans, language, and autism will be summarized. In addition, the limitations on this work will be discussed.
You have probably heard of hemispheric lateralization- hemispheric referring to the division of the brain into left and right halves, and lateralization describing the brain's tendency to make the two halves specialize in controlling different functions (1). Furthermore, the right side of your body is controlled by your left brain while the left side of your body is controlled by your right side of the brain. The connection between the hemispheres is the corpus callosum, a thick band of nerves. One of the most common beliefs is that the left hemisphere controls symbolic processing and rational thinking whereas the right hemisphere is more artistic, intuitive and creative (2). Many myths have emerged from this idea (5). We often hear students complain about being "right-brained in a left brained world" and others claiming that they do not perform well in a particular subject because they are either right-brained or left-brained. I remember being told that you should listen to lectures with your "dominant" side of my brain. In fact the idea has become so infused in today's society that we see several prevalent views of the left brain/right brain theory. A couple years back there was a car advertisement for Saab, which claimed the car as a "car for the left side of your brain." With so many simplified and popularized views of brain lateralization the task of sorting the fantasy from reality is daunting and not so easy. Right brain thinkers prefer a whole picture of an idea and not interested in the details. They also process information simultaneously. There are also reflective and impulsive thinkers. Reflective thinkers like to have time to consider and debate everything before making a decision. Whereas, impulsive thinkers make quick decisions with very little thought and based on very little information (Encarta, 2002).

According to cognitive theory, learning is not just a difference in behaviour, it is a modification in the way a learner thinks. Following it is the information processing model which describes that one’s brain has internal structures which select and operate incoming material (Dynamic Flight 2003). Everyone has cognitive control which is a crucial component of intelligence and learning capacity. However, the difference of our brain does affect it and therefore it differs from individuals. The scientists explained that if the asymmetry of the right and left hemisphere corresponds to more lateralization, the greater specialization of each hemisphere. This helps to improve the ability to resolve tasks. Learners whose two hemispheres were asymmetrical at the level of the cingulate cortex achieved better results and displayed greater capacity for cognitive control. From this, we can know that everyone may have different
