FOOD! Everyone enjoys it. When fellow consumers go out to restaurants, many times they are unaware of the nutritional information of the food they are eating. Many people are required to know how many calories, and other nutritional values they are consuming. This is one of the many reasons as to why the nutritional information of the cuisine served should be on the restaurant's menus. A reason why the nutritional information of the food should be displayed on restaurant's menus is because there are some people who may have high cholesterol, diabetes, or any illness in which that person may have to watch what they digest. These type of people need to watch what they eat. When the restaurants provide the nutritional values, these type of people will know whether they should eat that food or not. That way they will not have to worry about becoming sick or causing health problems. People who have any health problem need to know the facts about their nutriment. Some may say if they need to watch what they eat, they should just eat at home, but some people do not have a choice. Some healthier options at a restaurant cost less than the healthier options at the grocery store. People with high cholesterol need to watch their fat consumption levels and people with diabetes need to watch how much sugar they are consuming. Not only will be it be a caution for the people with health issues, but it will also create more money for the restaurant. The passage says, "Eating out is on the rise. In 1977, Americans consumed 18% of their calories away from home. Less than 30 years later, that number had risen to 33%." Clearly, there is already an abundance of people choosing to go out to eat. With the nutritional information being given, the percentage of people eating away from home can increase more than double. There are many people who do exercise and are attracted to the idea of eating healthy. When the restaurant is giving the nutritional information, the people who eat healthier are attracted to this idea.

Lastly, there could be a dramatic decrease in people who have food affiliated illnesses. When people know what they are consuming they will know the greater risk of becoming sick. The passage "Label the Meals" says, "Armed with relevant information, consumers can address this risk and be better for it." Almost half of adults in the United States have diabetes or some other form of health issue. If the nutritional values were shown on the menus for the food about to be consumed, people will be well aware of how much sodium or fat they are ingesting. The more they know the less ill they will
