Ban Ki Moon is the eighth Secretary-General of the United Nations, whom has helped mobilize the world in an amazing variety of different ways. He is still a person who can continue to help our Earth be the best that it can be. From being born when Korea was in war, to now, to be one of the greatest leaders of the world, Ban Ki Moon is truly a significant person. Having a tough early life, it could’ve been nearly impossible for anyone to believe that Ban Ki Moon could turn out like this. Just days after North Korea tested a nuclear weapon, Ban Ki Moon was elected Secretary-General of the United Nations. He became the first Asian to serve as the Secretary-General. Ban Ki Moon was unanimously re-elected as the Secretary-General in 2011. He will continue to serve until the December of this year, 2016. Not only that, but there were also numerous floods and droughts that occurred too. This left North Korea in famine, since there was only a certain amount of farming land, this left Kim Jong-Il to worry about his power. With the remaining amount of farming land, he instead decided to use those resources for the military instead of the citizens experiencing famine at the time. After this incident, in 2003, it was found out that North Korea was producing nuclear weapons, but Kim Jong-Il said it was only for security reasons.

People are still arguing if the moon landing in 1969 was real or faked by the United States Of America. Some people think it was faked and if they are true this would be very embarrassing to America and NASA. Some think it was real because of some of the evidence they brought back supposedly from the moon's surface but this is my opinion.

1. As far as peace keeping methods go, the reputation of the United Nations is very pitiable. This is not only because they have not been doing their job to it’s fullest extent, but also because the member states on the security council haven’t given the UN the power it needs if it is to be a successful force in peace keeping methods.
