Renna nodded and told Kai that they should start working now. Break away the fighters. Put weapons back into sheaths. Bring the aerial combatants to the ground. Disarm bombs. Move away fighters from the splash of holy water and the spray of hell flames. Then, they moved dead bodies to one spot. Although Kai could use Necromancy, she could still revive Angels and turn them into Fallen Angels, which has nothing to do with the two sides and could join them together or split them further. On the other side of things, Renna could use Animancy, which couldn’t be used on Devils since they cannot become Angels in status or biologically. Only Angels can fall and Devils cannot rise too high. Luckily for the both of them, there weren’t too many bodies

In Fall On Your Knees, Ann-Marie MacDonald presents a vivid and life-like character in Frances Piper. Frances Piper is one of the four Piper girls, and she is indifferent from the rest of them. From her early childhood, Frances is a bold and naughty girl, always getting herself into trouble. She has a great mischievous streak which troubles her father, James Piper, immensely. James Piper also has a demon like personality at various times throughout the novel, some of which he amasses from his father in his early childhood. In this same way, the reader can visualize Frances getting accustomed to her father’s personality and see her become a demon herself, trying to get back at her father. In a way, Frances can be seen as the Devil’s advocate. However, how can a young and sweet girl carry such a negative impact to her family, especially when she is the heart of this novel? Although Frances can be visualized as the Devil’s advocate by her actions, various characters, and the loss of her innocence through her father, Frances is a sweet, young, and seldom scared girl who is trying to live a life that her grandmother, mother, and sisters haven’t lived – a life filled with new adventures, life risking actions, and most importantly, fun.
In ‘The Turning’, mostly set in Angelus, some characters have never left the town while others return to the city to try to make sense of their lives and heal their wounds. All characters find disappointment or confirmation that they will never escape from their point of origin and that the painful experiences of childhood and adolescence isolate them in a phony reality. The short-story collection emphasises the idea that suffering is a pervasive part of the human condition and that moments of contentment are few, since life is an ongoing struggle, it also emphasises that the past shapes who you are. In the story 'Abbreviation', Melanie's comment that 'all the big things hurt, the things you remember. If it doesn't hurt it's not important'
There are different types of parent and child relationships. There are relationships based on structure, rules, and family hierarchy. While others are based on understanding, communication, trust, and support. Both may be full of love and good intentions but, it is unmistakable to see the impact each distinct relationship plays in the transformation of a person. In Chang’s story, “The Unforgetting”, and Lagerkvist’s story, “Father and I”, two different father and son relationships are portrayed. “The Unforgetting” interprets Ming and Charles Hwangs’ exchange as very apathetic, detached, and a disinterested. In contrast, the relationship illustrated in the “Father and I” is one of trust, guidance, and security. In comparing and contrasting the two stories, there are distinct differences as well as similarities of their portrayal of a father and son relationship in addition to a tie that influences a child’s rebellion or path in life.
The two short stories, “The Princess of Nebraska” and “A Thousand Years of Good Prayers” by Yiyun Li, depict the lives of two people under Chinese communist control, trapped by the social restraints of their society in search of individual salvation. In “Princess of Nebraska”, a young girl (Sasha) struggles to find internal purpose and satisfaction within her life, feeling that the restraints of communist control keep her from achieving the sense of self she desires. She believes the United States is the solution to gaining her individual freedom and fantasizes the recreation of her identity and life. Similarly, “A Thousand Years of Good Prayers” revolves around the same theme of social freedom vs the discovery of the individual self. Mr.Shi,

pits, different cells in hell and there is a heart of hell. As Mary and JESUS went through hell their were people there who are begging god to let them in heaven and god says no because judgement has been set. He said there has been many people their way to introduce them to god and they refused. Souls are in hell begging for repentance and the answer is no because they had their chance and they turned their backs on god. Some souls even were at one time of another saved and they were going through something to make them stronger in the word and they though god was being unfair to them and blamed god for the mistake; therefore turning their backs on god. There are many false prophets in hell. As god walks through and stop to talk to these prophets they beg and pled for forgiveness and when god says judgement has been set they began to curse god and talk to him in the manner where they are really disrespecting god.
In the Time of the Angels is a remarkable book that focuses on the idea that our morals come from philosophy apart from religion. The ways in which the book reveals this idea is striking, with the darkness that embodies Carel throughout. The book remains dark and melancholy while creating power struggles within the relationships of multiple characters. However, this book is used as a guide to better understand the relationship between darkness and Father Carel.

Family is one of the most important institutions in society. Family influences different aspects of a person’s life, such as their religion, values, morals and behavior. Unfortunately, problems may arise when an individual’s belief system or behavior does not coincide with that of family standards. Consequently, individuals may be forced to repress their emotions or avoid acting in ways that that are not acceptable to the family. In the novel The Rain God, written by Arturo Islas, we are presented with a story about a matriarchal family that deals with various conflicts. One major internal conflict is repression. Throughout the novel the characters act in strange ways and many of the family members have internal “monsters” that represent the past that they are repressing. In his article, “The Historical Imagination in Arturo Islas’s The Rain God and Migrant Souls”, Antonio C. Marquez’s implicitly asserts a true idea that The Rain God is a story about repression. Marquez’s idea can be supported from an analysis of secondary sources and a reading of the primary text.
all natural laws with a single thought. Eventually we find that angels cannot work miracles per se, but they can perform many special effects that appear miraculous, such as protecting Daniel from the lions in Daniel 6. When angels appear to man, they usually
This Present Darkness is an eye-opening book about spiritual warfare. In this book, Paretti gives a brief insight to his theological stance on spiritual warfare. He mainly focuses on the involvement and effects of demons and angels on human behaviors. Early in the book Parretti gives the assumption that Demons can take over or even possess people without their own will. In chapter 7 Sandy is listening to Shawn talk about being in tune with the universe, and how everything was connected. All the while Sandy starts to believe these theories, but underlying in the backdrop is a demon whispering sweet things and stroking her hair. Temptations are available to us around every turn, and quite frankly they tend to be rather inviting. The problem is believing that the demons made her believe that she was in tune with the universe. Sandy was shown the temptation of this new way of thinking and eventually, after entertaining the idea, she accepted the belief.
Before any of this happens, Satan is kicked out of heaven. Satan betrays God by raising up an army against Him and Satan is gone. This is an indication of Satan’s bad temper, jealousy, and envy. Satan had been put in charge of so much, but he was always coveting the top position. It was the position with all the power and he wanted it. The day that Satan was kicked out of heaven was the true beginning of the fall that would ruin God’s creation forever. Satan revolted from God and created his own army of ...
After reading Book 2 of Paradise Lost, which was about the meeting of all the fallen angels gathered together in their temple, Pandemonium, to plan the next war to take over Heaven once again, I was interested with the different views and ideas that the fallen angels had, such as Moloch, who was the fiercest fighter of the fallen angels, Belial who is cautious about the idea of another war to take Heaven again, and Mammon, who refuses to follow under God’s orders again. Moloch is an aggressive fighter, thus, he suggests to take Heaven over by using weapons of their own, however, Belial warns the other fallen angels that God did not give them the worst punishment yet, and that God can do so much more if they were to go on a war with him once again. Belial also reminds them that God is a very powerful entity that can do anything, since He was the ...
“And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceived the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him” (Revelation 12:9, KJV). In the Old Testament it teaches that demons are enemies of God and they have no powers. Jesus has disarmed them and they have no authority. “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is he that is in you, than he that is of the world” (1 Peter 4:4).
