In this class I learned a lot about the thought processes of others based off of group discussions and learning to read in a different way. The multiple ways of thinking critically was interesting a good to learn about and transformed me into a stronger reader. The emphasis on close reading really helped me out a lot. Close reading made me simplify the reading most times and to follow the words and interpret the words in that particular order. From the first formal paper to the second formal paper I became a stronger writer as well. We were guided more on the first than the second, yet I still had a lot of good ideas and different ways to think about the second paper. In this class the value of life was discussed a lot. Either people regretting what they took for granted in life or thinking too much and not enjoying life as it comes.

One I haven 't mentioned yet was the story The Burrow. I thought this was the most relatable to me and my life currently. As the character in this story was worried about the predator infiltrating his burrow and killing him along with destroying his burrow, he couldn 't even breathe or live. I related to this a lot as like the character in the story perfecting his burrow, I am perfecting myself as an athlete to compete against the best. I thought it was awesome to take a step back and relate to this story like I did. As we saw in the story the paranoia represented by the character is something all athletes experience because they fear they aren 't the best. The predator for me stood for two things possibly. What it stood for was either someone trying to take my spot or someone competing against me.
