HOW TO REDUCE WATER POLLUTION
My research question is how do we reduce water pollution in Canada but first I will explain what water Pollution is and how it is affecting us. Water pollution occurs is when our surrounding bodies of water become Contaminated either by sewage being poured into the water as a way of disposing of it easily, or the daily oil spills that occur and destroy ocean floors contaminate our water although we can clean up these oil spills we unfortunately cannot do it before all damage has been done, the constant dump trucks pouring garbage into the oceans and Atmospheric deposition when water particles mix with carbon dioxide sulphur dioxide and nitrogen dioxide and they create a very unconsecrated acid and when it rains, snows

Although Canada has made tremendous progress on tackling this problem in the last 20 years we as a country still have a long way to go and on a global scale we have even further to go and a really common question being asked nowadays is how can reduce water pollution or control it on a very large scale and in or day to day lives some small things we can all do is recycling, picking up trash that is lining around, try to avoid putting fats or oils or harmful Chemicals down the drain decreasing your dependence on oil and non-renewable resources is where it starts and ends.
For most of us, that means less reliance on cars, taking advantage of public transit, walking, biking, or carpooling http://cottagelife.com/environment/the-biggest-pollutants-threatening-canadian-lakes try and use as little plastic as possible and try buying more environmentally friendly cleaning products agriculture is also one of the biggest pollutants and it can be reduced and is
Pollution is something we create. It is man made. We pollute our air, and very importantly, our water. The great lakes is one o...
Since more than 70% of the Earth is covered with water, one would assume that there is enough water for everyone. However, this statement would be incorrect. Only 3% of that water is considered usable and 2% of the usable water is locked in the polar ice caps. This leaves 1% of that water for the use of humans. Canada possesses a substantial amount of this water, while other countries are less fortunate. One of these countries is the United States of America, the biggest users of water in the world. They are looking for a new source of water and have been hoping Canada can be this new source. The Canadian government should accept the proposal to sell water in bulk to the United States due to the availability, the safety and the economic opportunities it would bring.
The industrialization of Canada is severely affecting the nations lakes, streams, and rivers. If something is not done to improve the situation it is going to have some severe environmental problems in its future. The following essay will be looking at the factors that cause pollution, and the effect that pollution has on the environment of Canada. It will also explore some of the methods used to treat and clean-up wastewater, and oil spills.
'Water pollution is any chemical, physical or biological change in the quality of water that has a harmful effect on any living thing that drinks or uses or lives(in) it. ' (Azeem 1). In Canada, most people live in the southern part along with many agricultural and industrial activities causing the worst cases of water pollution. Water pollution is caused by population growth and industrialization, but can be prevented if proper controls are taken into consideration to help reduce the discharge of waste materials. Water pollution has been a huge disadvantaging concern for humans as well as wildlife for over many decades, but can actually be prevented if attempted. Preventing waste materials from being dumped into lakes and rivers, controlling

Pollution in Canada is not as bad as some other countries around the world, but it is becoming a more pressing issue day by day. Depending on where you live in Canada you might not see the effects of pollution as much, however pollution is all around us. From the pollution coming from our cars to the chemical valley in Sarnia, pollution is everywhere. The three main areas of pollution in canada are in the air, water and soil.
Pollution in the Great Lakes is a major problem. It affects both Canada and the U.S. and has been a problem for over 50 years. Both the Canadian and American governments have taken action against this, but the problem hasn’t gone away yet. This report will talk about pollution, and its toll on the Great Lakes. It will also talk about what we can do to slow down, and hopefully stop pollution in these lakes.
What are some of the main causes of water pollution in Canada, and what progress has Canada made in dealing with water pollution? Provide some indication of the seriousness of air pollution in Canada. Water pollution is not a major problem nationally, although it can be a source of concern in some localities. Major causes of water pollution in Canada include acid rain, groundwater contamination and unclean wastewater. As previously stated, Alberta's oil sands are set to cause growing levels of acid rain, certainly leading to an increase in water contamination in the area.
Pollution comes in many forms. In the ocean we dump a variety of substances, including human wastes, chemicals from fertilizers, oil, and trash such as plastic which all contribute to the growing issue of our ocean pollution. In addition to, our usable waters are finite. More than 97.5 percent of the water on this planet is undrinkable salt water; the remaining 2.5 percent has two-thirds of the usable fresh water locked up in glaciers, snow, and permafrost. Of the one-third of freshwater that is available for human use, 20 percent is used for industrial use. (“Water Pollution”) “In effect, water pollution reduces the volume of water available for use by human and other populations.” (Robin Clarke, Jannet King) Knowing that there are approximately 7.2 billion people and growing on this planet with only 0.83 percent of available for our use wouldn’t you want to do everything possible to help put an end to water pollution? Global Remediation is Canadian-based remediation cleaning services company towards contaminated industrial land and water sites, which was founded in 2004 in Fredericton, New Brunswick by four partners. Through its unique remediation technology that has been achieved by rigorous testing and obtainment of exclusive regulatory approvals, Global has successfully established its name as a major player in the industry. As such, Global was faced with the inevitable need to inject more capital into the company to fund its rapid growth. There was a set of criteria that we followed in order to reach to this conclusion: opportunity cost, expected growth, cost of borrowing, and corporate governance.
According to Pope Francis, “Any harm done to the environment, therefore, is a harm done to humanity” (UNDISPATCH, 2016), but it can imply that people should attend in sustainability in a long term. A sustainable city is developing and providing the things that society need without a negative effect on the next generation. Reference Framework for Sustainable Cities (RFSC), which consists of economy, society and environment, is one of the methods to help a city to approach with sustainability. However, these have to generate or balance with each other (Pearson, 2015). Toronto is one of the cities that have made progress in becoming a sustainable city.
Water Pollution is a current issue that has serious consequences; it progresses everyday in our lakes, oceans, rivers and other bodies of water.
I am going to take that education on water pollution a step farther; and explain how water pollution affects us, how it affects marine life, what companies affect it the most, and what people are doing to help. There are many causes for water pollution. The main one is plastics. The reason for that is that plastics take four hundred and fifty years to decompose in the water. Also many companies use plastic and people throw it in the waterways.
Picking up litter whenever you find it is honestly the best, fastest way to stop this type of water pollution. While it may not sound extravagant, the act of not passing by this pollution is pretty powerful.
Our planet is suffering from severe pollution, which ranges from contaminated air, water and soil as well. Humans are doing nothing to reduce the amount of pollution that is harming our earth. To understand how pollution works first you must understand that there are different types of pollution. The most common types of pollution and the ones that I will be focusing on which are the ones doing the most harm to our planet are air pollution, water pollution, soil contamination and littering. In order to help out and reduce pollution in our planet people need to be more aware of what these problems are and about the severe damages that they are causing our planet. Before industrialization really jumped into place and had an effect on large cities, nature had its own way of cleaning up its own air and itself. Wind scattered gases, rain washed many substances and the rest dissolved into the ground; while plants absorbed carbon dioxide and made it into oxygen. With big cities growing more every time and with more towns that were becoming more industrialized a lot of more waste began to be released into the environment and the atmosphere and soon this was more than enough for nature to handle. In order to stop and reduce pollution people need to understand the damage that it is causing our environment and our planet as well. People need to be more aware of how they can help out and do their part in reducing these problems that are causing our planet to die slowly with people not even noticing it.
