According to the newspaper article the WHO announcement states that eating processed meats and is carcinogenic for humans. The meats include hot dogs, sausages and bacon, and red meat. It also linked a connection between the meats and the cancer. I agree with the WHO announcement, but people should not over think what is being stated. It states that there is a connection between the two. The WHO announcement is not trying to make people stop eating the meat as a whole.
As of today I eat process red meat and I am going to continue to eat red meat. I believe that people should continue to eat process red meat as well. The meat may be carcinogenic towards humans, but it is a possibility not a known fact. It may have a connection to cancer,

The documentary I was presented with was Forks over Knives. Its general premise is saying meat is bad, it causes cancer, and that all humans should be on a whole- food plant based diet. They took these people into a 12-week program to switch them over to this diet. My knowledge before watching this film was that meat is good for you, we get plenty of amino acids that we don’t make in our own body. It gives us lots of protein. Eating meat isn’t all bad, it actually brings a good source of protein to one’s diet, in a moderate amount. In 2012 a study was done and found that the U.S. total meat consumption was 52.1 billion pounds. That comes out to be 270.7 pounds per person. We still eat more meat than just about any other country, besides Luxembourg (A Nation of Meat Eaters). As an american, my diet is completely meat based so it wasn't surprising when I was high in the protein category. According to my diet, the majority of the meat I consume is not necessarily fatty or highly processed but it is not organic/ GMO free. On one of the days I had eaten a hamburger, ( a usual food choice), since it is a food I would usually enjoy, I would like to point out that people who consume a lot of processed meats in their diets have a greater risk of obesity, heart disease and diabetes than those who do not eat processed meats.
