There is over 1.2 million women who have abortion to end pregnancy in the united states. Some of the reason that woman considered using this method is the fact that their birth control has failed and there are not ready to become a parent yet. Most of the time finance is a major issue due to the fact that most of the women have children and cannot afford to add another child into their life or the partner doesn’t want another child. Another issues that young girls face is the fact that they have no social support or their living with their parents and know that they cannot take care of a child due to the fact that they don’t take care of themselves. Another factor that can cause others to have an abortion is the fact they the unborn child can have some type of birth defect or medical problem. Some individuals …show more content…
Sometime women are categorized by their family as a good girl which mean that they cannot do nothing wrong or not doing what others their age are participating in. Women feel like they let their parents or guardians down by getting pregnant so they want to keep their reputation that why they consider this matter (Abortion - Reasons Women Choose Abortion, 2014).
Another reason why a woman can want to aborted her child is the fact that the it came from a traumatic event such as having a baby from being raped or better yet the baby is from incest. This is hard for victims to accept or wanting to take care of a child that they didn’t want to take part in. When victims have children from incest they are fearful that the child will have some form of birth defect. Mothers decided that they can’t give this child the best life due to the fact they will have resentment or some form of anger toward the child (Abortion - Reasons Women Choose Abortion,
To some women, a fetus is a stranger and a personal connection is not evident, even if a biological connection is. Furthermore, pregnancy takes a huge toll on a woman’s body and not all women have the desire to withstand such a situation. Also, the intention of abortion is to not necessarily kill the baby, that’s merely an unfortunate result of the action. Abort means to ‘eject’ or ‘stop’, not kill.
There is no excuse to killing an innocent child and abortion is giving people an excuse. Before a child even has the chance to be born and live, their life is taken away because of the mothers decision. There are so many alternatives to abortion. When a woman doesn’t want to keep her baby or does’t have the ability to take care of it, abortion shouldn 't be the first option taken. There are many options out there to be taken like “Abortion alternative clinics [that] offer services such as adoption referrals, free pregnancy testing, crisis pregnancy counseling, post-abortion counseling, and homes for pregnant women” (Chittom & Newton, 2015). With that many options to choose from, why would a woman choose to take the abortion route? When the abortion is in consideration, many women admitted they were not fully educated on the topic. Chittom and Newton (2015) wrote: “these heart wrenching stories describe the violent reactions these women have had to seeing images similar to what they had done in the process of killing their own babies”. After the abortion process was over, many women were shocked and mortified at how the abortion was preformed. For many, only guilt and sorrow remain since the damage was already done. Flat out plain and simple, abortion is not the right route to take. It kills and innocent baby and puts the mother’s life at risk
A lot of women can state that it 's their body they can do whatever to it, but aborting a child that can simply be put up to adoption and get a loving home with someone who actually had or has been trying to have a baby but can 't it not good at all. Some people just needs to get out of their selfish mind and think about others and the baby they carry. In the article The Bad Mother: Stigma, Abortion and Surrogacy, it states that having an abortion will make you a bad mother because not only are you a killing a baby you 're abandoning one as well, even being a surrogate makes you a bad mother, the Baby M case was a famous case, it 's against to abort a baby in the Bible,
Abortion, defined as the intentional termination of a pregnancy, is one of the most highly debated liberties of all time. Approximately one to three million abortions are performed each year. Women receive abortions for reasons such as rape, teen pregnancy, and health concerns. Unfortunately, it is a liberty that some still wish to eradicate due to religious beliefs and misconceptions. Abortion should remain a legal option for women because illegal abortions result in far more fatalities, religion does not serve as grounds for a law, and most importantly, there is no conclusive evidence that a fetus is equal to a human being.
He concluded three out of every four women said the reason for an abortion was because a child would get in the way of education or professional goals. Seventy-three out of one hundred women said the reason for an abortion was because they were financially unstable, and nearly one out of every two said it was because they did not want to be a single parent, or because she was having problems with her spouse. One out of every three said they were not ready to have a child. Younger women sought abortion because they are just starting their life and they are not prepared to transition to motherhood, while older women did not have the time to be responsible for their upcoming child (Finer 110).
Being a mother is a lifelong job that requires copious time, energy, and money. There are myriad different reasons in which a woman would consider getting an abortion. The decision is often tragic and painful for the mother. It is one of the biggest choices a woman will make. Many people have strong beliefs about abortion, and if a mother makes a decision that they do not agree with they sometimes turn against the mother, and enkindle egregious feelings about their decision for the rest of their life. Indeed a woman may not get an abortion for selfish reasons or out of convenience, but out of a desire to protect certain important values such as her own health or a decent standard of living for the other members of the family. Additional intentions for having abortion include rape, financial difficulties, obligation by family members, or danger to the baby’s health (Roleff
Many people have their own opinions on abortion, that a fetus is a human being with a right to live so abortion is similar to murder. While other groups argue that a woman has certain rights, especially the choice whether to bring another life into the world. The groups that are for it think that abortion gives women the control over their own bodies, which it is their choice when and whether to have children or giving an option to choose to bring or not to bring a child with abnormalities to the world. Some children are born with severe disorders and some parents, being unable to care for their disabled child seek abortion as their one and only option because taking care of a child, especially born with abnormalities is tough work to do as a parent, so they decide whether bring a life into the world. They look ahead on what is best for them, and it is selfish. Or even having in mind that some do not want to become a single parent taking up two roles; a mother and father and they feel like every child should come into the world feeling wanted, loved and cared for. Another reason some women have an abortion is because they do not want to stop work or schooling, and these reasons are consistent across many countries, including America. Other reasons are because of societal pressures, women get little to no social support. But
because there are many reasons for having an abortion. And a lot of the time
Many young girls should have the right to an abortion if they are not financially stable. Teen pregnancy in the United States is very high, and most of the teens that are pregnant don’t have any support from the fathe...
Some women have accepted the definition that a woman’s prime role as wife and mother is to have control of one’s own body and mind (Reardon 3) .Once they had choices about life roles, they felt that they had the right to choose abortion or not. Any and every woman should have the ability to choose when to have a child in their lives. Many women feel that if they did not have the right to choose an abortion, they would have passed by many opportunities to create a better life for themselves. Some people might not agree with their decisions, but in the ends it is theirs.
There are thousands of women in the world make the mistake of getting pregnant. Yes, there are forms of contraception but they are not 100% effective in preventing pregnancy. Approximately 1.4 million abortion procedures are done each year in the United States, with 30% of those women being younger than forty-five years old (ProCon). Without abortion, there would be an abundance of children who are brought into the world unwanted and not being able to have the essentials they need to go through life successfully. The most difficult responsibility a woman would have to go through is finances. 85% of women who wish to have an abortion are unmarried and have to support the child alone (“Abortion Procedures”). Abortion can save a woman from going through financial distress when she is aware that she is not financially stable. Teen pregnancy is common in the world and they are not at a point in life where taking care of someone else, other than themselves, is possible to do alone. Thirty-nine states allow minors to go through the abortion procedure with parent consent (“Abortion Procedures”). All fifty states should allow this because if teens could not receive that choice, then they would have to carry an unwanted baby that they could not take care of after giving birth. Most abortion procedures are during the first trimester (Lowen). During the first weeks of pregnancy the development of the fetus is a gather of cells, therefore killing cells is not killing an actual person so abortion should not be considered murder.
Our Nation was built on the ideas of freedom and independence. With that concept, I believe that our government needs to trust that women have the capability to choose what is best for their future. Our society should respect women’s independence and grant them the freedom to decide what is right. This issue is important to me because history has shown that restricting abortions, not only undermines women, but can also be very dangerous.
A person being pregnant and wishing they weren't is probably the worst feelings a woman can have. A women knowing that if they brought a child into the world and they didn't want it, or they would have to give it up for adoption is such a disheartening way to start off, and mother and the un-born child would be so much better off if they were to terminate the pregnancy and wait for a more appropriate time, or in the case of rape, put the past behind them and move on. Women should have the choice because not everyone knows what the situation was. In today’s society people have attached shame with the word abortion. When people hear of abortions they automatically assume it was the mothers fault and she didn’t use protection or may...
The father of the child may not want to have children and corherse the woman to give up or abort the child. Some woman could have been raped and is unwilling to accept the fact that she is pregnant, however this is not very common, most women who have an abortion are just not ready to be a parent and can’t handle the consequences of their actions. This is the most frequently reason to having an abortion. They are, in away, ashamed of the fact that they were pregnant and wanted to just be rid of the child growing in side them. Mostly because they don’t want anyone to know they slipped up and they don’t want people to shame them for for the fact that they made a
The majority of women choose to have an abortion because it is a last resort, and not just some form of extreme contraception. Getting contraception in many states is very restricted, in some instance, the only way to get proper contraception, away from condoms, a female require a doctor’s prescription, (Guttmacher Institute). In most cases, pregnancy among American women or women in general is unintended.
