Footballers are not overpaid as people think!
Footballers wages are reasonable! Footballers are not getting paid too much as everyone think. Footballers earn a certain amount due to which club they are in. Some footballers can have their career shortened by injuries like Jamie Redknapp, Ben Collett, Dean Ashton, Luc Nilis, Alf-Inge Haaland and David Busst which means they have to live off what they have earned during their football career. They also won 't be getting a pension which means they are stuck with the money they have.
To become a footballer you need dedication, these players have dedicated their full lives to their job which involves harsh training and the maintenance of physical fitness through intense daily training. They are continuously under the pressure of their trainer who requires them to be completely fit.The decision to become a professional player has to be taken far earlier, for if you aren 't a good footballer by 17 or 18, you will not have the career of a top player. And

In other jobs, you work about 40 years and then acquire a pension at the end. Footballers only have a short career span so they are paid for the years and then are expected to live on what they have earned for the rest of their lives. If their wages were dramatically lowered, this means they will have to live off what they have earned from their time as a footballer.
Although I can understand why people think getting paid £676,000 a year as an average for a Premier league footballer is too much. Where theirs doctors who save people lives but they 're in tons of debt to the bank because they took a loan for medical school. I can also see why people might think firefighters, ambulance crews and police all put their own lives at risks just to save other people whereas footballers get paid millions a year just to kick a ball
People that say elite sports people are overpaid do not know what they are talking about as sports people are paid for their skills just like any other occupation or career. For example, a specialist doctor is paid over three-hundred thousand dollars a year, this is an astronomical amount! On the other hand, an average AFL player is paid two-hundred and nineteen thousand a year, sure, there are some players in the AFL such as Chris Judd and Jonathon Brown who are regarded as the best and they might earn a little more than average but If anyone is overpaid it is these specialist doctors as any one can go to university and be come a doctor but it take natural talent and raw skill to be a top level AFL player.
I have decided to write a response paper to Ekow N. Yankah’s: “Why N.C.A.A. Athletes Shouldn’t Be Paid”. Although I enjoyed reading his perspective, I do not agree with his statement which addresses that student-athletes shouldn 't get paid. Universities are using their student-athlete’s popularity to promote their athletics program while the student-athletes are unable to promote their own image. Student-athletes work hard day in and day out, basically like having a full time job. Which makes time is also very limited during the day for student athletes to get a real job to pay for the extra expenses that they need. Also, most of the time coaches will not allow the student athletes to work, because of their conflicting schedules with practice.
Do athletes get overpaid? Is it fair that the average NFL player gets paid 1.9 million dollars a year while the average heart surgeon gets paid 533 thousand dollars annually? I think that professional athletes don’t get paid too much. There are multiple reasons that proves that their pay is not excessive. Their careers are short, they risk their body for our entertainment, and they motivate children.
Because of the general duties in football the average of time for them playing is close to 6-7 years because of all the hard work that one has put in. The average of a professional football player salary is 1.8 million , unless
4.7 million dollars. This represents about 84 times more than an average person makes in their life. Yet, this can also mean something else. One person can make this and could do it in a year. That’s how much one rookie from the NBA makes in a single season! They just shoot balls into hoops, and game after game, they defend it from the opponents net. They don’t save people on a daily basis, they don’t work their whole life for the minimum, and instead, they don’t use their money wisely. This is not right. Athletes are overpaid and people have had enough.
James B. Hays worte in an article on teenink.com named “Professional Athletes are Overpaid for Their “Jobs”” about how athletes do not deserve the money they get paid because they do not actually work. Hays insults professional athletes which shows the bias nature towards these athletes and only reports what is actually seen out of these players by the public instead of what they do everyday off the camera. He does not include their practices, weights, and scouting. Hayes also contradicts himself many times throughout his article by saying they do not have actual jobs and they do not work all year round which diminishes all credibility that Hayes did not establish. James B. Hayes argument
Every day, people around the world complain about professional athletes salaries. Even though the top athletes make millions of dollars every year, the majority of athletes do not make any more than the average working class citizen. There are also many risks along with the job, and job security is very unstable. Expenses and taxes also limit the amount of money an athlete makes. Tax rates are extremely high for the men and women who participate in professional sports.
Do you think professional athletes are overpaid? You might think they earn more than what they are worth for playing half a year, but athletes have many things which contribute to their salary. Some of these things include their earnings from endorsements, ticket sales, performance, merchandise, their social contributions, and TV ratings. Although there are many factors that contribute to their salary, professional athletes may be overpaid because as a society, we contribute to their success. So, in the end, part of the athlete’s salary comes from the people who support the sports in the first place. These are just some of the reasons why athletes are paid so much money.
They’re paid how much? Student all around the world have been playing these games their whole lives and haven’t earned a dime! Not only do kids not earn salaries, but also athletes have been receiving millions. Many professional athletes are given millions of dollars. Some people think that these athletes don’t need a bucketload of money, which is completely true. Regular families that would work their entire lives wouldn’t even come close to how much they make and it’s preposterous. Athletes are being overpaid and something needs to be done.
“The great debate rages on: Should college football players be paid…” (Jennings). I do not think that they should because they already get rewards, they could make money if they chose, and they are amateurs and are playing the game voluntarily. Although there are many reasons why college football players should be paid, the evidence clearly stacks against those arguments.
Football is a very famous and well-known sport all over the world. Fans go crazy about their favorite clubs and teams play as hard as they can to win the championship. What a lot of people do not talk about is the money aspect of football. Every year football clubs spend millions on buying and selling players, which is called transfers. Apart from that, the amounts of money clubs pay their players, as a salary is outrageous depending on the team. In many leagues, there is the firm belief that spending a lot of money on players leads to success. It is easy to pick out the teams that spend most money on their players since their wage bills are much higher than the rest when compared. Looking at the English Premier League, which consists of 20 different teams, one is able to see how much teams spend on their players. This brings up questions such as: how can we measure how worthy a player is and decide how much to pay them? Or, how do teams decide that a player is good enough? Why do players who seem to be just as good as others get paid so much more? These research questions are all very interesting, though what will be focused on is the relation between success and the amount of money spent on players’ salaries.
The salary of professional athletes are always being debated on whether they make too much or it 's the right amount they should make. Some of the athletes do make millions and millions of dollars, but there is some that don 't. Anyways in order to make the millions first an athletes must make it to the professional level. For example in soccer only 1.4% of people actually make it to the professional level. So the rest of the people make it for other sports such as football, basketball, baseball, and others. To be considered a professional athlete you must be getting payed to play a sport. They will be playing for a league and even tournaments and get rewarded with more money if they win. Some may think an athlete
Players are paid a lot… the minimum salary cap for a rookie in the NFL is $450,000, and most teams will pay way more than that for a good player. I understand that a lot of people would kill someone for that kind of money, and that's completely understandable. You could go to college, buy a nice car, pay your house off, or use the money for retirement. I still think though, that players are not overpaid. They don't have to go in front of millions of people and play football. They could just play at their local park with some friends. Now, I’m not saying they don’t love what they do and want to go out and play their hearts out for their fans, but they do get yelled at and even get death threats from
When addressing the value of entertainment, there is without a doubt, that we as a society value entertainment highly. But there is no reason that these athletes, who are here to merely entertain us, get paid higher wages than those that save our lives and teach us such as medical doctors and teachers. I find it ridiculous that players make millions of dollars a year, and yet demand more. The entertainment that these athletes provide is solely entertainment; it is not essential to the function or productivity of society. If I were to become a professional football player I would not complain about my salary for many reasons. I am playing the sport that I love and getting paid for it. The minimum wage for football is well over $100,000 a year, as is for many professional sports. These reasons by their lonesome are enough to warrant that the salary professional athletes are paid is suffice.
Sport has always entertained and influenced our lives. It creates dreams for children and goals for adults. However, many fans are oblivious to the millions they pocket each year. It is without doubt that our sports stars are grossly overpaid. Their annual earnings exceed those we make in a lifetime, even when compared to highly qualified professionals.
