Imagine a kid that doesn't know what it's like to have fun because of a illness well The make a Wish Foundation helps those kids have fun. If I had 10 million dollars to donate to a nonprofit organization, then I would give it to Make a Wish Foundation because it helps kids with illnesses by making their wishes come true, making their lives better, and by making the kids last few years or months easier by knowing that their favorite sport player or musician are praying for him/her. these are the reason why I would donate to Make a Wish Foundation. The Make a Wish helps kids with serious illnesses by making their wish come true. They grant a wish every 37 minutes. Which means they make about 440 wishes come true throughout the day and maybe …show more content…
They make the family's lives better by the kid coming home after the wish and they are so happy and excited it makes the family happy to see their kid happy. Plus it seems that at least 85-90% of families are closer after the wish than before the wish. The wish itself empowers the children and families. It empowers children by knowing that they have people in their corner after the wish. It also empowers them by the kids knowing that they can be normal just like any other kid they just may not be able to do as much as a normal kid. Doctors and nurses think that the wishes can make the physical health of kids better. If they feel better than the family should feel better knowing that the last little bit of time they could have left that the kid is happy . The doctor think this because they have seen a difference in how they feel and how they act when the come back home or go back to the hospital. Also they have noticed that they are more energetic and more happy. The Make a Wish Foundation helps these kids because they want to see the kids happy and they want to see the kids more energetic and all these other things just to see the kid back to their old …show more content…
In one case a kid got to sign with the Seattle seahawks. He got a jersey and a whole locker for his uniform. He got to practice with them and he got to get a touchdown. He got to have an experience that not a lot of people get. Even the people who have trained all their life for. In another case a kid got to meet his favorite NFL quarterback and he picked RGIII. He got to practice with the redskins then he got his first and probably last touchdown. so altogether these kids deserve these wishes to come true because of how hard they have fought and how much time the may or may not have
They also have the purpose of making families less stressed during the period of time when they have a member of their family who has cancer. The overall purpose of the company is to Research cures and help towards cancer.

Every kid on the football field has a trophy. Even the kids who are on the losing team. Kids’ and parents’ faces are bright with smiles, and laughter echoes throughout the field. Kids are showing off their miny trophies, each with a bronze football on them. No one is paying attention to the two feet tall, gold, first place trophy that is in the winning team’s coach’s hand. Everybody is focused on the miniature trophies. Why are these trophies so special? These are participation trophies. Every kid gets one just for participatcuing in a game. Kids started getting participation trophies in the 20th Century. They got the trophies to feel more confident about themselves. Trophies should not be given to every kid because of narcissism increase,
...h is not the only organization devoted to the well being of children undergoing constant treatments and illnesses. Kids Wish Network and the Starlight Foundation are similar organizations that are equally committed to improving the quality of life for children that suffer from life-threatening illnesses. The sociological impact of these organizations is substantially relevant when it comes to viewing a society as a whole. It unites the values of a community, making it stronger. They simply make a society much more appealing to those around them, as well as convey a mass depiction of ideal morals and values. Make A wish foundation is not only an inspirational organization, but also a form of standard that develops a society significantly. Most of all it gives us the hope in humanity, that such acts of morality still exist and prosper our social values till this day.
The American Cancer Society is a volunteer-based organization that is present across the United States. Its main purpose is to raise money and awareness about the severity and prevalence of cancer. Cancer education and research is where most of the focus and monetary donations are used for. The American Cancer Society strives to fulfill their goal of “less cancer and more birthdays” across all generations and populations (ACS Inc., 2011).
Thus, you should donate money and support this foundation because it is one of the top-rated charities in the United States. In any case, this foundation does great things to help people with breast cancer. Contributions to NBCF can help by using the money to provide the mammograms and other programs included in this organization. Financial offerings can help women detect breast cancer and have it treated early. Breast cancer has no cure, but NBCF can allow people to have a chance at life. It would truly help many people if you educated yourself, your friends and your family. Knowledge can mean everything in cancer diagnosis. Given these points, everyone should take action with this disease. Janelle Hail is now living her life as a cancer survivor and giving the gift of life through NBCF to all those who deserve to come out on
Have you ever have a kid on your team miss half of the practices, and games? If so, then why should kids get a trophy for showing up? In society, many people are arguing whether or not kids should get trophies for participation. Not everyone should get a trophy for participation. First, if kids want something in life they have to work for it. Second, trophies are only for winners. Lastly, giving kids trophies could send them the wrong message.
First of all, children need to learn that life isn't fair and that's ok. If bill gates makes 1 billion dollars for making a new product that doesn't mean that you will get 1 billion dollars for doing the same thing. Also if your friend gets new shoes that doesn't mean you will get new shoes. My point is that kids need to know that life is not fair. Then if kids got trophies for losing and participating they would not know that life is not fair.
The definition of “charity” is different for everyone. Charity could mean to give their own time to help others in need to be selfless, it could also mean a form of making money, or it can also be a way to get community service hours. Going along the lines of people’s different perceptions of charity, there are many reasons on why you should and could do charity work. There are many different types of charity. In 2015, the top three charities in the US are United Way, The Salvation Army, and Feeding America.
He also visited children's hospitals. “At a press conference in London, Jackson made an announcement about his “Heal The World Foundation.” The ‘Heal The World Foundation’ was founded by Michael Jackson in 1992 as a charitable organization which helped the children and the environment” (Michael Jackson Legacy). The goal of his organization was to provide medicine for children. This organization’s goal was to fight the world’s hunger, drug abuse, alcohol abuse, and child
The theory of wish-fulfillment states that dreams could symbolize varying internal conflicts a person has, but be represented through some other event or object. There could be a deeper meaning of a person’s dream because their true and possibly inappropriate emotions may be replaced by a different scenario that would be considered appropriate. This creates the thought that an object in a dream could actually be meant to convey something else. Some people believe dreams allow an understanding of what is occurring in their personal life but there are multiple reasons a person could come up with for what it meant. There is also another possibility that there is no deeper meaning to a dream, and what is happening in it is exactly what it is with no hidden message.
There are several reasons why participation trophies can be good for younger athletes. At such a young age, they are just learning about commitment. When they are rewarded for going to practice, they are taught about commitment. Also, if parents give back their trophy, it promotes that you’ll only be awarded for something if you’re the best person on the team (Website #1). Children are also just finding confidence. In one recent study by Stanford psychology professor Carol Dweck, fifth graders were given an easy IQ test. When they finished, they were told on of these two things; “Wow, you got a high score. You must be really smart,” or,
Make-A-Wish Foundation is non-government organization that grants the wishes of children aged three to 18 years old who get life-threatening medical conditions in their lives such as lung cancer. However, it is difficult for wish to happen in their situation.
Charity is important because it helps people appreciate what they have. It is important to connect chairity to ones own life. This will help with coping with problems and how to have a different outlook on life. People that have depression often feel better and hope after they help with a charity or volunteer because it makes them feel needed and/ or wanted (“Volunteering” par. 5). Charity has a “feel good” effect and works both ways. It makes the receiving side feel good from getting what they need and knowing that people care enough to help them out (Volunteering par. 5).
Philanthropy is powerful because everyone can be affected by the love for mankind, this can change the world for better. Philanthropy is not the practice of self importance and putting yourself above others. Philanthropy and its power of changing the world is about donating to charity your time, belongings, or even sharing kind words or advice in an effort to better others. It is about giving to others less fortunate, and caring about other humans. Whether you know them or not, helping others and caring for the welfare of those less fortunate can change the world. One person can change the life of someone else's by one simple act of charity or kindness. Bill Gates is a wonderful example, due to his material advantages, he can give his belongings to others to help them, rather than keeping all his success to himself. Over his lifetime Mr. Gates donated $27
