A friend of mine recently got fired from work, when I asked the reason for which he got fired; he explains that his car let him down as it broke down on him on the way to work. In his dismissal letter the human resource manager explains that he has been showing up for work late on several occasions and that on three different occasions, he never showed up for work at all. He was called in by the manager and signed three written warnings, yet he still claims that it’s the cars’ fault for him getting fired. This is not much of a conflict but as I network engineer, car issues should not be his problems because he makes enough money and get a car allowance as part of his pay package. This is his third consecutive job that he loses due to similar behaviors, and so …show more content…
RCA has five identifiable steps (Mind Tools Ltd, 2017), which I have ran and detail below 1. Identify the problem: - My friend has been fired from work and the symptoms are that He cannot afford his rent. 2. Collect data: - I have seen the dismissal letter from his manager - His car was broken down 10 days after month end - He makes enough money to afford a car service and his pay package covers a car allowance - The problem exists for three months now - It’s the third job he loses in this very same manner - The impact is that he cannot afford to pay for his accommodation 3. Identify Possible Causal Factors: • What sequence of events leads to the problem? I used the 5 whys method and ask him repeatedly why he could not afford to pay for rent and he answered: - Because he was fired, why? - Because the car broke down, why? - Because the engine oil ran out, why? - Because I did not take the car in for service, why? - Because I did not have enough money for servicing? Why? - I used up all the money I was paid. • What conditions allow the problem to occur? - He loses his job because his car always lets him

There was evidence shown that the unfair dismissal requirements were the furthermost conflicting and inconsistent from the manager’s perspective. The Fair Work Act applied unfair dismissal requirements for entirely workers, regardless of the population of workers in the business (Chapman, 2015). The Fair Work Act presents two cases that dismissal could be reasonable, including other dismissal and summary dismissal. In the first case, the law offers a sequence of stages such as concluded checklist, copies of notice, declaration of dismissal and a witness announcement with signature that managers must follow with the intention to reduce the problem (Chapman, 2015). In the second case, managers may dismiss a worker without notice due to theft or fraud. As the consequence, the amount of cases in relation to unfair dismissal has risen significantly since the Fair Work Act implemented as law. In addition to the growing records of cases in relation to unfair dismissal, the judgements from Fair Work Australia showed some contradicting clarifications of the Fair Work Act (Chapman, 2015). According to an example, a business in Albury- Wodonga had dismissed an employee due to the breach of occupational and safety laws after an employee continually denied to wear safety glasses at work (Sloan, 2011). However, after checking the worker’s reinstatement, the Fair Work Australia stated that the worker had a family and he has found it challenging to
If the plaintiff can prove prima facie the burden shifts to the employer. The employer must provide evidence that they fired the plaintiff for reasons other than discrimination. If the employer can prove this, the burden shifts back to the employee. The employee must then prove that the reasons the employer gave for termination are a pretext for discrimination. If the plaintiff can prove pretext, the court will find that the employer discriminated under disparate

The largest cause of unemployment can be attributed to recession. The term recession refers to the backward movement of the economy for a long period. People spend only when they have to. (Nagle 2009). With people spending less there would be less money in circulation therefore, enterprises would suffer financially and people would suffer too. This is so because recession reduces the fiscal bases of enterprises, forcing these enterprises to reduce their workforce through layoffs. These enterprises lay off their workers in order to cut the costs they incur in terms of wage and salary payments.
All of these above show the influence of the unemployment. In spite of how many
Focus on the Remaining Employees: Managers must make sure the remaining employees are reassured that the situation is not negative. Prepare emails or memos for the remaining employees explaining the termination. Be honest and upfront about the reasons and consequences of terminations. If the termination is for absenteeism, then state that. If the company is experience financial problems, it is also a good idea to get that out in the open to avoid gossip and fear mongering. Implement a transition of responsibilities and assign duties to other associates.
Unemployment No one desires for others to not have enough. In a utopian world there would always be more than enough to go around with the entire work force ecstatic to go in the next day. Unfortunately, this is not reality and despite the many improvements made with technology in the last 100 years, robots are not yet able to complete all of our tasks while we drink piña coladas on a beach. These shortcomings translate into the fact that not all of our population is able to provide for themselves all of the time or as it is more commonly known unemployment. There are different types of unemployment that affect the unemployed in various ways, which will then correspond to how easy or difficult it is for them to find other employment.
With convenience comes cost. There are many costs associated with owning a car. Firstly learning to drive can be prohibitive, with lessons often out of a lot of peoples budgets. Once you have passed your test buying a car can also prove expensive. It is often the case we have to buy cheap second hand cars as new cars are very expensive. Sometimes this is fine and you can have a reliable car, but other times you pick one up that’s not been well maintained and can cost you a fortune in repairs and keeping it on the road.
