With the start of a new generation, companies tend to think of it as a fresh start and a way to redefine platforms, brands and characters. Sony Computer Entertainment America saw fit to bring back one of the most beloved franchises in the history of PlayStation and give it a full PS4 makeover. Ratchet & Clank for the PS4 is an epic, hilarious, stunning and entertaining blast from the past, and hopefully this is but a taste of what has yet to come for the franchise. It has been a few years since we 've seen Ratchet & Clank, but more precisely, it has been close to 14 years since we saw its debut iteration. This reimagining of the series has arrived in a flawless form. Everything from incredible and diverse visuals, to the quirky weapon arsenal, …show more content…
However, there is no specific XP system for upgrading your melee attacks like there are for your weapons. Ratchet & Clank does a fine job of making gamers think about their actions and how they carry them out. You can make the choice to use melee attacks over weapons, but you will find yourself with lower-grade weapons and as you get further along in the game, maxed out weapons, from an XP standpoint, become far more useful than your melee attacks. My strategy was to use the same weapons, ammo-pending of course, until I maxed out their individual progression and then I would move onto my next weapon of choice for XP purposes. It 's not a true Ratchet & Clank game if we don 't talk about its goofy and diverse cast of characters. One of the things I love most about this game, and have loved most about the series, is how self-aware it is, not that the franchise hasn 't been. Cutscenes are, at times, rolling on the floor laugh-worthy and from ironic humor, to cliché humor; Ratchet & Clank is filled with hilarity, light-heartedness and genuine moments. This is Insomniac 's wheelhouse and Ratchet & Clank is the perfect playground for not taking themselves too
Call of duty black ops 2 is a first-person shooter video game developed by Treyarch and published by Activision, the game was first released in November of 2012 and is a sequel to the 2010 game call of duty black ops. Black ops 2 was the first call of duty to bring the franchise into future warfare and first to offer player choice with branching storylines.
Despite there being hundreds of video game releases every year, most of these games are unoriginal and therefore unplayable. There are countless video game genres, but one of the most popular genres in the past few years have been the zombie games, also called survival games. I was thoroughly convinced that all the games in this genre were clichéd and overdone, until I played the video game The Last of Us. Even though it is a survival game, the focus is not on gruesome zombies or gratuitous violence, making it already vastly different from the others. Instead, the focus is on telling a story. Between the gorgeous graphics, serene music, and flawless acting, it already goes beyond being just another “zombie game,” but this isn’t even accounting
Many people agree that Sony’s Playstation 4 is better than Microsoft’s Xbox One and vice versa. I have been gaming since I was seven years old and still am today. The first gaming console I ever had was the original Xbox. Throughout the years though, technology has improved vastly. The last generation of game consoles gave the industry a much needed boost and gave the consumer another commodity. With the eighth generation of consoles just arriving, a lot of people are wondering which console to buy. There is, however, more than just the choice of games. There’s differences in processors, graphics cards, hard drives, design, operating systems, ports, versatility, stability, controllers, and, of course, the games.
In Dalton Conley’s memoir “Honky”, written in 2000, Conley talks about his experience of switching schools to a primarily white elementary school. He discusses the major differences between his prior, very diverse school and his new, primarily caucasian school. He focuses on the main topics of race and class, and how they enhanced the differences between these two schools.
And the old games you didn’t have to pay. Ps3 you could play. Now for ps4 you have to pay to play. And it sucks more because you get only like a couple months to play. Then you have to pay again when your month is done.
The word Ratchet has become an American slang word that has the younger generations incorporating the word into their daily vocabulary. The word has been heard in songs used mainly in rap. Ratchet is often referred to as women acting ghetto, or sloppy; however, there is no correct term for the word. When doing a search for the word, many definitions appear, most having the similar meaning. According to Webster’s dictionary, the official definition a device made up of a wheel or bar with many teeth along its edge in between which a piece fits so that the wheel or bar can move only in one direction .Yet, the term is still a word that people are trying to determine the meaning. Because of the lack of definition, some people are unsure how to incorporate the word into a sentence. The slang term ratchet has become more widely used on social media. On Twitter and Instagram alone, there are over three million hashtags referencing the term.. Slang words now can be used into a word and possibly become a word that still has yet to find a meaning. My interaction with the word takes place at work where the word has evolved into becoming an everyday word, toward the meaning of the word and how social media uses ratchet.
Nurse Ratched uses her voice throughout the novel to intimidate the patients. She is the antagonist of the novel. The patients obsequiously follow Ratched’s command, until McMurphy comes along. They all fear that she will send them for shock therapy if they don’t obey her. Nurse Ratched is the most daunting persona of the novel, due in large part to the use of her voice.
Fallout: New Vegas feels like an expansion of Fallout 3 with the same controls and basic gameplay skills with a few added improvements only slightly tweaking the first person shooter (FPS) aspect of the game. V.A.T.S. (Vault-Tec Assisted Targeting System), which is a technology that allows the user to freeze combat and target certain locations on an enemy, was t...
A prominent them in the literature of the Holocaust we have read in this class is the role of family and heritage. Many of the works we have read have dealt with familial relationships, cultural heritage, and the passing down of culture from one generation to the next.
Reflecting back on the most iconic figures in the history of horror cinema, characters like Michael Myers, Freddy Krueger, and Jason Voorhees still shine brighter than all the rest – even despite their current lack of utilization. In the meantime, an array of other “big bads,” ranging from Ghostface, Jigsaw, and Annabelle, has attempted to climb the proverbial ladder into the (imaginary) horror hall of fame.
Peter Quint and Miss Jessel symbolize the indistinguishable nature of both the governess and Miles’s sexuality in Henry James’s The Turn of the Screw. Whether or not these ghosts actually exist in the literal sense, Quint’s presence evokes what could be construed as sexual desires in the governess while also reminding her of her social status. Similarly, Quint forces the reader to question Miles’s sexuality because of the implication that their past relationship was of a sexual nature. Miss Jessel, on the other hand, serves as the governess’s only reminder of the wickedness of her desire for a sexual self and ultimately, prevents her from acting upon those desires. These developments emphasize the mysteriousness of the connection between Miles and the governess and lead to a deeper sense of dismay about the true nature of their bond.
B-boying or break dancing is described as “a hip hop dance style developed by Caribbean, African American, and Latino youth dancing to Kool Herc’s beat music.” It was also created from many different forms of African dancing from all around the country that were merged together in which dancers could compete and challenge each other in battles. It is also one of the four major elements that were brought together by the Bronx River Organization that originally created hip hop culture. In one scene in the film, Stomp the Yard, the dancers compete in a variety of different moves that hype up the crowd and is an obvious expression of soul and energy by their bodies. They also perform in a “cipha” which is an enclosed circle surrounded by an audience rather than on a stage, allowing the
Call of Duty’s fourth installment “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare” was released in 2007 for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. At the time, nobody would have expected the game to get very far due to Halo’s reign over the FPS genre. However, to many people’s surprise, Modern Warfare took the market by storm, rivaling Halo. This was part due to Cod’s innovative multiplayer, which included multiple arcade-like features to keep players interested in playing for hours on end. Cod also appealed to many gamers and non-gamers by making gameplay an easy-to-play experience. This of course allowed thousands of inexperienced gamers to have fun playing Cod without the stress of a skill based multiplayer, such as Halo’s. Increasing in popularity, a new Cod installment was to be released every year following Modern Warfare to rake in the cash and to make the game’s reputation more prominent. This is how Cod became the juggernaut it is today.

This generation has welcomed several HD remasters, and will continue to do so for years to come. Though some remastered titles are just a year or two old, there are others that are nearly a decade old and now have the opportunity to cater to a new audience. Capcom’s Devil May Cry 4 is among the latter, having been released more than seven years ago. Why should you care about Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition? Simply put: it takes a damn good game and makes it even better. With new content and smoother game performance, this is the way DMC4 should be played.
