Topic/Concept: We will be learning about the colors of the rainbow. Objective: Students will be using tools and instruments for observing, measuring, and manipulating objects in scientific activities. It is said the best way to spark interest in a rainbow is to see one in the sky, or you can make your own if none is present in the sky. In making your own rainbow, hold a magnifier lens up so that the sky sunray shine through the window let it go straight through it and then it separates into a color spectrum. On the other hand set a glass of water near a window so that the sun can shine through the water. Materials: Catch a rainbow – reflect sun from a watch face lens and make the spectrum appear in different parts of the room. Chase it. …show more content…
Procedure: Initiating Activity: The rainbow is a beautiful, natural phenomenon which continues to inspire people in different ways. The colors of the rainbow are perceived as a set of hues arranged in a specific order. In order to remember the color orders, simply keep in mind the name Roy G. Biv which consists of the first letters of each hue. Therefore, the seven colors are red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet. This is the order from the outside-in of the rainbow's arch. In this regard, the rainbow colors represent diversity and acceptance. The rainbow inspired scientists to further explore the nature of color and light because the rainbow allowed drawing the conclusion that color is somehow connected to light. If we want to better understand color, we must take a closer look at light. And, if we want to better understand light, we must care about energy. Sometimes we can see a rainbow arc in the sky, when sunshine shines through raindrops which don’t happen very often. In most cases, when it rains, the clouds are covering the …show more content…
This is because when the sunlight reflects off lots of raindrops (like a mirror), we then see all the colors. Rainbow spectra always have the same 7 colors in the same order – they are red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo (deep blue) and violet. Sometimes indigo and violet are categorized together, as one color. How to do it: Paint a rainbow on a glass door or window with thick tempera by adding Joy soap. Make sure to have available the 7 (or 6) colors using crepe paper streamers or curled strips of construction paper. Then attach the ends to a paper plate (or similar) with staples, tape or glue. Evaluation: • If there was sunshine and no rain, or rain and no sunshine, could we see a rainbow? • How many colors are in the rainbow? • Where are rainbows found? Extension: Blow bubbles outdoors and look for colors in the
'Rainbows end' by Jane Harrison is a play set in a small town in northern Victoria. It focuses on many aspects of life in the 1950's, especially what life was like for indigenous people at the time. When reading the play many personal values and attitudes were challenged, maybe even changed. This play gives a real insight into what belonging really is and how it affects people differently.
...nd violet wavelengths are the shortest, and violet is the least visible to the human eye. These wavelengths are scattered throughout the day and caused by a redirection of the light-waves direction due to gas molecules in the atmosphere (Mc Knight, p. 84). When the sun is setting towards the end of the day there are few blue wavelengths left and we see orange and red which are dominant and the longest wavelengths of visible light to the human eye. At the bottom of the photo (closest to the setting sun) red and orange are the dominant visible colors with the occasional blue and almost violet. If our eyes could not see orange and red our sunsets would be a dark blue or black.
There were rays of sunlight that were depicted as well. The light in the painting seemed to be focused in the middle, where the stream was. Other areas and parts of the piece were dark or darker than the area in the middle. I think that a trick with shading or lighting was used. Perhaps, it was tenebrism.
By day it is a vision of dazzling whiteness, with its tiled court and plashing cool waters, its pointed arcades and lattice windows. At night it is equally effective with its thousands of lights and the rainbow colours of the cascade.

Another view of the American flag is the colors red, white, and blue. Some Americans see the color red as blood for all the blood shed on the battlegrounds. Another color white for victory or triumph in our great nation of America. Lastly, the color blue for the sadness or sorrow felt because of the lives lost in war.
It creates moods of happiness and security for the viewer as we are transported back to a world we know: color. In his article Color and Storytelling in Films, Robert Mills says, “Kansas is described as grey and lifeless whilst Oz, being over the rainbow, is colorful. There is also an element of reality (black and white) versus fantasy (color) between the two worlds.” He explains how the two worlds are so different, just by the use of color.
Throughout the story, many different colors are used. Every color in the rainbow can be seen throughout the story. One major example is the yellow brick road the Dorthy has to travel down in order to get the the Land of Oz. The color yellow is interpreted in many different ways by different people. To me the color yellow symbolizes happiness and joy. The yellow brick road is what leads Dorthy and her friends to the magical wizard, and once they reach him I am sure that they will be filled with joy and happiness. I remember that the color yellow symbolizes joy by thinking of the sun, which starts a new day and

My sixteen week class in English 111. I was really nervous about this class. Because English has never been my strong point. This class has hard, but fun all at the same time. I learn a lot from this class. Meanwhile, the first day of class you handed a paper with a question on it. “The first thing I want to say to you who are students is that you must not think of being here to receive an education; instead, you will do much better to think of being here to claim one.” Even though putting my all in what I have learned, claiming my education with hard work because using the skills of the meal plan, as we write to different audiences and learning to be a Critically thinker as I start becoming a critically-Literate Citizenship.

Second, some corals in New Caledonia were found fluorescing with vivid colors. This is in fact a chemical sunscreen they secrete in order to protect themselves from the heat they are experiencing. In a way, their brilliance can be a tool for people to notice them and their current situation or as what one scientist said in the film, it is an “incredible and beautiful face of death”.
Light is what lets you experience colour. The pigment of the retina in your eyes is sensitive to different lengths of light waves which allows you to see different colours. The wavelengths of light that humans can see are called the visible colour spectrum.
