Raging Bull demonstrates to the viewer the true significance of knowing what you can and cannot do in front of people. Martin Scorsese, director of Raging Bull, wants the viewer to clearly know that everyone is different, therefore people might be more sensitive than others. Also, Scorsese shows how easy it is to ruin a friendship with someone if you treat them harshly, without you even knowing it. Jake la Motta (protagonist) is a boxer who starts off average, but gets better as violence and temper builds up. On the other hand, Jake treats his family and friends as one of his opponents in the ring. This builds up conflicts and allows his friendships with others to vanish. Robert de Niro, who played Jake la Motta, is just too old to play the same role now as to when he was 37 years old. Robert de Niro does a tremendous job playing Jake la Motta by showing anger and frustration in the film. If I would remake this movie, I would want to replace Robert de Niro for Leonardo Dicaprio. I think he would be the perfect man for the job because he knows how to show that anger, but also knows how to play a strong herolike person’s role. …show more content…

Even though she was young, many saw a beautiful, tall, honey blonde hair actress. Joe Pesci, an Italian American actor, compared her to Vikki La Motta, Jake’s real wife. Joe was walking casually on a street and saw a picture of Cathy outside a bar, stating she had won a bathing beauty contest. I would want Scarlett Johansson to fulfill the role of Vikki La Motta because she has all the quality’s Cathy had. Scarlett, actress and model, simply just has the same quality as Cathy. Even though Scarlett is 5’3 feet, she will be the right wife for Jake La
