The world is filled with many different types of people from many distinct places, but it is possible to find commonalities between everyone. People’s technology usage has become a way of examining similarities. Technology has grown into a popular tool around the world and will soon be seen as a worldwide source of connection and communication. For many, it is difficult to understand other people’s cultures or relate to people of different races. Technology can help people to understand others around them, but it can also increase social divisions.
Throughout history, social and racial tensions have been plaguing the earth. Recent developments in the technological world have divided people, mostly by race. Racial biases in products, as well as social media

The problem is many people are not interested in blurring the edges. Instead of trying to connect and relate to other cultures, people become stuck in a personalized world of their own creation.
Schmidt and Cohen also discuss how technology is becoming more personalized in their article.
While personalizing technology may be great for individuals, it only hinders the world from bridging the gap between races and cultures. Personalized technology allows people to become stuck in their ways while using their devices and also become narcissistic in the outside world.
People are also spending more time on electronic devices which keeps them more isolated in their own virtual world and keeps them from first hand experiencing the different types of people in the world around them. In this age of technology, which allows people to reach all the way across the globe, the world is becoming more isolated than ever. This isolation increases social divisions. While new technology seems great, it has socially divided the world. New technology has caused people to become disconnected and isolated from the different people around
Muhammad Ali, a famous boxer, once said, “Hating People because of their color is wrong. And it doesn’t matter which color does the hating. I’s just plain wrong” (Goodreads, 2015). For many centuries, ethnic conflict between the humans have existed immortally due the never changing differences of culture and values, spinning the cycle of war. Fortunately, some have ended however some still remain immortal in the eyes of those who have experience struggle to this date. The lack of awareness of problems in a cultural crisis concerning those who fall victim to a system and society that discriminates and alienates. With assistance of Critical Race Theory, this essay will examine how the role of race with has affected has caused consequences within the lives of marginalized groups within society through the lives and their relationship with those in their communities.
Our daily lives are affected by race whether we are aware of it or not. How we live different aspects of our lives depend on the colour of our skin. From the types of jobs we have, the income we earn, where we live etc. In societies fundamentally structured by race, it is important that we do not abandon the notion of race, but instead pioneer a revolution in the way that races are understood. In this paper, I will examine how the dominant groups in society define race in terms of biology, which leads to the notion of white privilege, which is their advantaged position in society, at the expense of other racial groups.

There are many changes still occurring with the evidence of shifting from old ways to new lifestyles in evident across the board. Lifestyles have also taken a different turn in the event that most people do not live in the old patterns and beliefs of life. Many people have thus not only forsaken the old ways and lifestyles but it is also important to embrace the idea and truth that the world has taken a different angle in every aspect. Technology has introduced various notes that have influenced the turn of events. Today, every feature of society is manipulated through the eye of technology, knowledge,
Technology is important, but more important is the social context and fundamental structure of human cognition and communication
Technology is something that seems to bring people together, but in reality can bring people farther away when technology not optimized for certain groups. Many groups are left out of new technology, especially the deaf and elderly. These groups deserve technology just as much as people the technology is originally geared towards. Technology is meant to bring people closer together not isolate groups from each other. However, despite the technology not being fully optimized for these groups, it has had some advances in the past years.
This brings attention to why race and ethnicity exist so predominantly in society. There are a number of theories that observe why racism, prejudice, and discri...
The term racism means inequity or injustice based on race. It can also be the principle that talks about the differences in human personality or capacity and that a specific race is absolute to others. This can be as a result of language, traditions and customs, or any feature that the person possesses. The idea of racism has been in existence in the history of humans for a very long time. For the past years, racism of westerners towards those who are not from that region has had more impact than any other type of racism. The most well-known instance of racism that occurred in the West was enslaving Africans. One vital feature of racism, particularly concerning the
All our communities are evolving, and becoming different, and as technology grows, so do we. Some people see us changing as a culture, and think it’s a bad thing, but I think it’s a very good thing. More people are becoming multilingual, as a result of wanting to be absorbed in different cultures, and learn about them, and as a result, we are all becoming closer as a species, because of how connected we are. We are told this technology is making us anti-social, and stopping us from living our lives, but in my opinion, it is doing the exact opposite.
Be that as it may, the smartphone changes our culture and our life as a whole which causes an impact on the older generation and the younger generation. As smartphone improves our communication and interaction with our friends, our families and relatives, or other peoples around the world, the smartphone creates disconnection, and degrades the social interaction around themselves. Although there are advantages and disadvantages of the smartphone that impact our culture, the smartphone improves our communication with other people. It is possible that “many of our cultures values will continue to change as our society becomes more dependent on technology.” (Zackary, 2015) To conclude, the communication technology such as smartphone indeed affects our culture as a whole in many
Technology has changed the way society interacts with one another. While technology has allowed society countless means of social interactions that weren’t possible 50 years ago, and has allowed people to sustain long-distance friendships that would have otherwise ended, the fact remains that technology is still taking over human interaction. Many may argue that this change has been positive. However, there are those who believe that this is one of the numerous social disasters when it comes to technology. It is believed that the changes are ruining the quality of social interaction that we all need as human beings.
Today, Americans are faced with the increasing change of technology in our everyday life. Sometimes the change happens and we do not realize how it affects our lives. I think it is always a good idea to talk to someone that is older than yourself, like your grandparents to remind you of the times in their younger years. Hopefully, that will open your eyes to the changes we face in this generation and the generation to come. In this chapter, the author explores the relationship of changing technology to changes in both the environment and social institutions.
... It's extremely sad how technology demolished any sense of human interaction. About 10 years ago, we didn’t have access to social networks or all of the internet that currently serves youngsters. Back in the day, if you wanted to meet new people you had to go to school or to parks to find people your age who could be possible friends. I personally believe that technology is the key to success; it has made countries all around the world grow from what some people thought to be uneducated into more developed and modernized countries.
Technology is causing isolation because people are constantly communicating with others on their smartphone. Although technology helps people stay in touch it is also making them further apart in the real world.
Over the last few decades, technology has greatly increased its abilities. It started from the simple radio to now having cell phones which can surf the web. Technology has greatly influenced our society in many ways. Nowadays it has made family relationships have a different connection and has simplified people’s lives. A couple decades ago, a person would never had imagined to Skype a family member across the world. It would be like trying to imagine teleportation. It was unthinkable, but with moderation, technology has evolved for the better. With the new technology in our world, people are able to talk to their distant family members. People are also able to save time and watch a movie with their extra time. There are pros and cons to having technology nowadays. Yes, people are able to communicate faster and save money, but technology is also disconnecting them from the people around them. Technology has changed humanity for the better, but humans must know to use technology in moderation.
Technology has brought us closer and squeezed the distances, but in reality, it has taken us away from each other. The rapid growth of technology has brought about significant changes in human lives, especially in their relationships. The latest technologies have turned this world into a “global village” but the way humans interact with each other, the types of relationships and their importance has changed a lot. The advancement in technology has brought us closer, but has also taken us apart. In the past, the means of communication were limited.
