The world is filled with many different types of people from many distinct places, but it is possible to find commonalities between everyone. People’s technology usage has become a way of examining similarities. Technology has grown into a popular tool around the world and will soon be seen as a worldwide source of connection and communication. For many, it is difficult to understand other people’s cultures or relate to people of different races. Technology can help people to understand others around them, but it can also increase social divisions.

The problem is many people are not interested in blurring the edges. Instead of trying to connect and relate to other cultures, people become stuck in a personalized world of their own creation.

While personalizing technology may be great for individuals, it only hinders the world from bridging the gap between races and cultures. Personalized technology allows people to become stuck in their ways while using their devices and also become narcissistic in the outside world.
People are also spending more time on electronic devices which keeps them more isolated in their own virtual world and keeps them from first hand experiencing the different types of people in the world around them. In this age of technology, which allows people to reach all the way across the globe, the world is becoming more isolated than ever. This isolation increases social divisions.
