The Victorian Era is a Era that is extremely known throughout society. It’s known to take place in the United Kingdom of Great Britain, In the Nineteenth century. The Era is named after their Queen Victoria, The Queen at the time who ruled until her death in 1901, in which the era had ended. The era had many things go on throughout the years, in a nutshell it was a industrial revolution. The era has a lot of influence even in modern times, the parts of modern time pop culture has even structured area around the area. A lot of things that we know from today were formed or created in this era making it quite important. This is including but not limited to invention, Medical, Science, Public Service, Entertainment, and Workforce. Queen Victoria is ought to be the most important person in this era. Considering she was the queen crowned at age 18. Also ruling over the United Kingdom for 64 years, and this era was quite going through many changes to becoming modernized. She had influence from her early years; The Prime Minister and Her husband, Prince Albert. The taught her about being a ruler in a constitutional monarchy, in which the monarch didn’t have much power but could influence decisions. Her personal life in matter is quite interesting. She was born May 24, 1819 at the Kensington Palace, London. She was the only daughter of Edward the Duke of Kent, Who died after her birth. When growing up it said she had a gift to drawing and painting. Victoria was educated by a governess when at home. She had a Dairy she had kept throughout her life. When her uncle William IV died in 1837, in which a year later she became the Queen on June 28, 1838. In 1836 she had met Prince Albert and in 1840 she had married him on February, 10 1840. Heated- Baths that were heated by gas, quite dangerous by how they were designed, it was in a way if you were not careful it was possible to “Boil” yourself alive. Toilets were pretty dangerous too since they had a way of having a spontaneous combustion, because methane gas of the Sewer system causing too much pressure. It wasn’t til Thomas Crapper invented the ballcock in which prevent the methane gas from causing too much pressure and possibly seeping into the bathroom.
