Majority of USA College students know some aspects about singing, but do they know what all goes into singing? For some people, singing is more than a hobby; it is their way of living. So, if the vocalists do not follow certain rules, the vocalist’s singing voice could be damage. Readers should know the quality of singing, but the readers should know people’s misconceptions about singing as well. To be a singer he or she must follow certain rules to singing and this will make his or her sing voice last longer. If vocalists do not take care of his or her own body, the singing voice could hinder him or her from the correct way of singing songs the proper way. Singing can be fun, but the vocalist has to work hard for his or her voice to sound beautiful.
So, the quality of singing is being able to control his or her voice. He or she must be able to find one’s vocal range, such as, soprano (sings high notes), alto (sings less than soprano, but higher than tenor), tenor (sings low notes), etc. Controlling his or her own breathing while singing is a big factor in singing,

because it controls the singer of what he or she could do while singing. Keeping the quality of one’s singing voice healthy, he or she can drink warm tea or water to relax his or her vocal cords. Over several years, one has seen a lot of people have misconceptions about singing.
People have a misconception about singing and speech being different or the same. Yes, singing and speech are two different things, because when one speaks he or she speaks in a calm voice, but singing is forcing one’s regular voice to be loud. Singing and speech are the same, because he or she uses the same muscles to accelerate or decelerate his or her voice. Not keeping the body health is one the most dangerous things a vocalist can do. Not drinking plenty of water can lead to not being able to control his or her breathing while singing. Also, not exercising can lead to one’s body being tired and he or she cannot sit or stand straight up and sing fully, and this can lead to having damage vocal cords. Not taking care of his or her body by not resting, can also lead to the singing voice being exhausted and
strained. Singing can be fun, because a person can chose his or her own style of singing and put his or her own twist to it. He or she can also make singing fun, because it can be something that makes others happy as well as him or herself. Singing can be a stress reliever to some people. Another, misconception is people do not understand singing cannot be learned, and singing has to be a natural talent. Well, singing can be taught and learned by people who are vocal coaches, and singing can be a natural talent to some people. Every person knows everything has its pros and cons including singing. Yes, singing has its flaws; however, if the guidelines are followed there would not be so many misconceptions. Furthermore, if the body is taken care of, than the singing voice will be breathe-taking. In addition, the vocalist will sing like an angel. So, do USA college students understand what goes on with singing, and what do USA college students think singing is a talent, a skill, or strength?
Music is a passion of mine, this comes with my love for performing on-stage. I play guitar in the School Ensemble and clarinet in the School Concert. I was also proud to be awarded a third place for reciting the Quran (in Arabic) at the Annual Qirath Competition 2014, which is indeed a vocal competition.
How do poetic devices affect a song? In the song "It's Beginning to Look a lot Like Christmas" there are many poetic devices that can be found throughout it. Poetic devices describe how in this case a song is formed. The three poetic devices that are included in this song are imagery, rhymes, and repetition. These three poetic devices are elements that make the song a stronger piece because of there definition.
Some can be dancers, comedians, events hosts, models, DJs and so much more but I’m just here to talk about drag queen singers. This essay will talk about the production of a drag queen music video and what has to be done to change the appearance of the artist and also depict the meaning of two music videos.
After learning how to talk, I found that singing was something I really enjoyed. Music has helped me to express myself. I have
Throughout history music has had a profound effect on a person’s mind, body, and consciousness. A song or piece of music can trigger vivid memories, and induce emotions ranging from deep sorrow to unabashed joy. Music can drive listeners to patriotic fervor or religious frenzy, or it can soothe the savage beast we call human. There have been many advances in technology that have let us study how music affects the brain. Music causes all sorts of activity in the brain, especially during musical improvisation. Music can tremendously help people with certain mind damaging diseases, and in some cases it can have negative effects.
The Voice and American Idol are two popular reality television shows that aim to find the best unknown singers and transform them into a household name. Beginning in 2002, American Idol has soared in the ratings due to the unique competition style of famous celebrity judges deciphering the best singer from large groups of hopefuls, with its most successful season bringing in over thirty-eight million views during the finale. The Voice, a newer show, similarly supplies viewers with a unique singing competition by producing several competition stages that provide a unique viewing experience. Despite the obvious similarities between these two singing shows, differences such as the varying competition styles and the differing awards given to the winners supply enough contrast to promote a healthy rival between these two television hits.
Whether the student is a beginner, or someone who has studied music for a number of years, the way in which one views oneself as a musician can be an important factor in the kinds of experiences one has with music. A quality music education is one that challenges students to set clear and achievable goals, think musically and critically, and apply what one has learned in a meaningful way. If a musician harbors a negative view of his or her musical abilities, the lasting effects of this view on his or her musical experiences and achievement could be challenging to overcome.
Music plays a major role in life for most people. It can soothe and excite, encourage sleep and encourage dancing, we can sing to it and ponder it. There are so many different uses of music and so many mediums through which to play it such as Pandora, Spotify, YouTube, etc. Beyond that, more songs every day there are new songs being written. Statistics show that ninety-five percent of all Americans think that music is a core part of a balanced and well-rounded education. The same study showed that ninety-three percent of Americans thought music belonged in the public schooling system, and seventy-nine percent even suggested that music education should be mandatory for all students. Still, studies show that a staggering twenty percent of high school students choose
Authenticity, which could be described with terms like “real”, “honest”, “truthful”, “with integrity”, “actual”, “genuine”, “essential and “sincere” 0, seems to be lacking with performers who do not write their own songs. The fans feel deceived as the artists perform the songs as if they were their own, and form an ostensible connection with the fans. Once the true writing credits escape from under the fame of the performer, the authenticity of the artist is greatly reduced. Fans feel a lack of truthfulness, which “interacts with the social and cultural context” and gain a feeling of betrayal that their favourite artist has gone for commercial gain. While the performer may be gifted, it is the composer that succeeds in “conveying the impression ‘that the listener’s experience of life is being validated, that music is “telling it like it is” for them’”.

this is not to say that I have much musical talent. I did perform in the choir in elementary school, and I played the flute for four years through middle school, but one day I came to a simple decision. When it comes to music, I am a much better enjoyer of it than a producer of it. When I am alone in the car, my sing-along-to-whatever-is-on-the-radio voice is fab-u-lous. However, as soon as any else climbs into the car with me my talent suddenly dwindles. My larynx doesn’t seem to appreciate an audience when it is trying to perform. Thus, my musical enjoyment stems directly from listening.
The music business entered a dramatic change in the 21st century. These changes appear in the way of how people access and consume music. According to Hull, Hutchison and Strasser (2011) the music business has developed throughout three stages. While moving from the agricultural age, where the music business made its revenues through live performances, troubadours and patronage, the industrial age introduced new innovations that were assumed to be associated with long-term economic growth. Commencing the year 1950 sound recordings experienced a drastic raise in sales by an average of 20% a year (Krasilovsky and Shemel, 2007). While the music industry was dominated by six major record lables (Time Warner, Disney, Vivendi Universal, Viacom, Bertelsmann, and News Corp.) (Hull, Hutchison and Strasser, 2011), further growth in the industry has been recorded in the 1970’s, where record sales “rose from less than $2 billion at the beginning of the decade to over $4 billion in 1978”, which took a sharp turn entering the Depression around the middle of the 20th century (Krasilovsky and Shemel, 2007:5).
Wagner believed in the unity of drama and music, that the two arts share a connected expression of a single dramatic idea. "10Poetry, scenic, design, staging, action, and music work together to form what he called a Gesamtkunstwerk (total or collective artwork)."
Music dates back many centuries ago. Music was used for an array of things. In some cases, it was used for rituals, to pass messages, or even for celebrations. There are approximately five to six hundred genres of music currently in existent today. Most music would have been said to originate or birth from folk music in America and evolved overtime to form different genres of music. Music has a long history and connection to human beings and their behavior. Music can also affect someone’s behavior whether it be negatively or positively. There have been many studies and research on the effect of music towards human behavior. Specifically hip-hop and soundscape music seem to have the most interesting effects on human behavior. Moreover, to gain better understanding of how music effects human behavior knowing how the brain functions is also essential.
