If you have ever seen a magical land filled with talking candy, princesses, and an evil ice king, then you have seen the television show Adventure Time with Finn and Jake. Adventure Time is about two heroes, Jake and Finn, and all the adventures they go on to save people in the Land of Ooo. The show is silly, but when you actually listen to the words and pay attention, it does include good advice and life lessons. Jake, the dog, is a talking dog with powers to change shape. Finn, the human, is Jake’s adoptive brother and best friend. The boys have been best friends and brothers since they were babies. In the three episodes, season 1 episode 16, “Ocean of Fear,” season 1 episode 22, “Henchman,” and season 2 episode 7, “Power Animal,” Jake proves he is a great friend to Finn and everyone should have a friend like him. In those three episodes, Jake helps Finn get over his fear of the ocean, uses his only wish to save Finn from the Gnomes, and gets over his own fear of vampires to save him from Marceline. Everyone deserves to have a friend like Jake, and you can evaluate your own friends based on everything Jake does to help Finn.
Jake makes a great friend because he helps Finn get over a fear. In season 1 episode 16, “Ocean of fear,” Finn discovers he is afraid of the water. Jake tries his best to help Finn get over his fear with a “three-step plan.” During step one, Jake wakes up Finn and has the room fall apart to reveal they are floating on the water. In step two, Jake unties Finn from his bed and he has to float on the water in his sleeping bag. The final step, step three, Jake pushes Finn under water with his jowls. After that, Finn freaks out, jumps on Jake and pulls his ears until he reaches land. After Finn be...

...new Marceline was not really evil, hid her in his backpack, but still told said, “I am free! Jake, you faced your fear and saved me!” (Cruws & Ward, 2010). Even though Jake does not know that Marceline is just playing a game with Finn, he still is always watching and trying to help his best friend. Any person would be lucky to have a friend that will help them even when they were scared.
Adventure Time is a silly show, but shows what a true friendship should look like. Everyone deserves a good friend like Jake. The best kind of friends are those who help you get over fears, help you out even if they were scared, and overcome any obstacles to help you. It is obvious that Jake loves and cares for Finn and would do anything to help him in a time of need. Finn and Jake have a friendship that everyone should want and look for those qualities in a friend.

Threats made him great because they made him think about what he was going to do with his life if he did not behave, and his future didn't look so bright. Also, others not reacting when he misbehaved made Jake a greater person because he just wanted attention and when he didn't get it he stopped. Finally, discovering his passion made Jake great because it gave him joy and he started to relate to others and want to also give them happiness. To summarize, Jake went through a lot, his parents were in jail, he moved in with a new family, and was threatened to be locked up. Jake's life was an emotional roller coaster, and he could have sat around feeling sorry for himself. But instead, he helped the Applewhites, worked hard and tried to please others. He realized that he could change his future. He stepped up to the challenge and made a difference in his life. Jake became
A true friend is someone who is always there for you through thick and thin. During bad times and good times, true friends always have each other’s backs no matter. In The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, by Mark Twain the main character Huckleberry Finn develops an unbreakable bond with Ms. Watson’s slave named Jim. Huck and Jim’s relationship doesn’t develop right away, but as the novel evolves, Huck opens up to Jim when they journey down the Mississippi river together. Huck begins to care for Jim and treat him as equal.
A true friendship is always having each others back through thick and thin, a ride or die. As Claire has been put under a lot of danger the boys were always there to watch over her and protect her like she was a sister. Even when they knew that the secrets could potentially harm them they stayed by her side to ensure her safety to the best of their abilities. For example, Nicholas never left her alone anywhere and always accompanied Claire. When Claire was kidnapped Nicholas was there to try and protect her but was shot. Claire had a choice to make and chose to protect him which saved his life. “I wondered if my friendship and love could ever be an even trade for the pain they had endured” (Maetani 366). Claire is aware of the pain and hardship the boys and her family has faced as she reached further through the past and was distressed for the pain they had faced. True friends will do anything to ensure the safety of each other despite the challenges and adversities encountered.
“When you are down in life, your friends get to know who you are. When you're up in life you get to know who your friends are.” -Anonymous. From the novel “Freak the Mighty”, the narrator informs us that Max and Kevin demonstrate a strong friendship. All in all, they were there for each other in the good times and the bad. So in conclusion, good friendship includes teamwork, trust, and having adventures.

By using symbolism to develop the story, Golding shows his readers that the island is a place of evil and changes the boys from civil to savage. The end of Golding’s story shows the order and organization on the island dying along with Piggy and Simon, causing chaos and destruction to Ralph and the others. Even after many years, Golding’s book still holds the same message, the human nature is the same in everyone and chaos and destruction can be caused by this human nature even in the most peaceful
Friendship is truly what separates us from the animals. Each true friend you find is truly a blessing and should be treated as such. Although we lived in different environments the boys from The Pact and I have learned and cherished this life lesson. Through tight friendship and perseverance one can achieve anything they set out to in life. Hopefully, my friends and I can take the examples set forth in The Pact and follow them all the way to success in our respective lives.
Through the use of protection and sacrifices for one another as well as good morals, these are key points of Huck Finn and Jim’s growing friendship. Mark Twain also uses Huck’s conscience to show his changing attitude towards Jim. Jim would do anything for
In this series, Jake the dog and Finn the human go on numerous amounts of adventures. Finn may not be evil, but he is realistically portrayed as a normal human. He has his own faults, most notably the fact that he often acts like a jerk, especially to the series’ main villain, the Ice King. While the Ice King’s decisions are certainly questionable, he has innocent intentions as whole. Finn, however, is clearly a jerk to the Ice King. As misled as the Ice King is, he is never unreasonably mean. Yet Finn still harasses and hurts the Ice King. The Ice King is indeed a sad character; the Adventure Time Wikia page describes him as “merely a nuisance” and “misunderstood.” The Ice King even “expresses a continual zeal to spend time with anyone who will tolerate his company.” He closely reflects the stereotype of the “innocent but disliked” character, both in life and in fiction. Yet the Ice King is one of the, if not the, most disliked characters in the series. Finn essentially gains the protection of having the title of a “good guy” and being the protagonist in order to do and say whatever he wants to the Ice King. No matter what Finn does or says, he will always be seen as the good guy, be it his actions reflect that idea or not. While his mistreatment of the Ice King is most probably a play on irony by the creators, it is unlikely this comes across to
As Ralph, “the boy with fair hair” matured to the boy with “matted hair”, his perspective matured from haughty to compassionate. Early on, Ralph believes that “Piggy was an outsider, not only by accent, which did not matter, by fat, and ass-mar, and specs, and certain disinclination for manual labor”. He rejected Piggy’s “proffer of acquaintance”. He believed “this was [the children’s] island, [that] it was a good island”, that, “until the grown-ups come to fetch [them], [they] will have fun". However, by the end of the novel, Ralph understood that deep down the children fear the island, “the littluns, even some of the others, [talk and scream] as if it wasn’t a good island”. Empathy develops through experience and understanding of truth. Scout thought “Boo was about six-and-a-half feet tall, dined on raw squirrels and any cats he could catch”. At the beginning of the novels, Ralph nor Scout understood the true nature of Piggy or Boo. However, their respective experiences mean “the end of innocence”. Scout and Ralph begin to differentiate between empathy and authority, good and evil. Scout realizes “[Boo] was real nice, and most people are, when you finally see them”. Ralph recognizes the importance of his “true, wise friend called Piggy”. Yet concurrently, they see “the darkness of man’s heart”. Man discriminates even when doing so harms
... a friend by developing a profound connection with Jim himself and the sense of freedom. Overall it can be concluded that people like Huck Finn when terrified and bothered by a issue will constantly bring it up and speak unaware of the words they say and very well could be trying to hide from reality itself.
Friendships are a major theme in the story and are expressed through having faith, their explorations, exchanging items, and sharing similar views. When Tom and Becky separate from the rest of the group, they venture throughout the cave by themselves. Soon after realizing that they are both lost, they rely on each other to find a way out of the cave and back to civilization. Another journey is when Joe Harper, Huckleberry Finn, and Tom go to Jackson’s Island which indicates the boyish, sociable relationship among each other. The companionship between Huck and...
Growing up in school you have your friends in 1st, then in Jr. High, and then when you get to high school you might not even know or see your friends from 1st grade anymore. For the few people who’s had a friend from 1st grade till college I think that someone they need to hold on to because if they stuck with you through all them year I know they’re there for the right reason and there not just there for a season. As Elizabeth Dunphy says, “It’s the little things that matter, that add up in the end, with the priceless thrilling magic found only in a friend.”
A friend is someone difficult to find. A friend is someone you can always count on when times are tough. The dictionary's definition of a good friend is a person attached to another by feelings of affection or personal regard. A good friend is there when you are struggling. For example, when a boy breaks your heart a good friend walks you through it and offers a shoulder to cry on. According to Bree Neff, a good friend is someone who is trustworthy, doesn't talk behind your back, listens to your problems, gives good advice and tries to lend humor along with his or her support. There are also bad friends, those who pretend to care and then turn around gossiping and starting drama. Good and bad friends are all around you, involved in your everyday life. To find good friends you should look for such traits as being kind, trustworthy, loyal and dependable.
