“I think you make impacts by taking risks” says Grimes. This quote means that more things will come and be successful when you do things that may or may not be harmful. Someone who is a criminologist goes to crime scenes and collects evidence to figure out the crime. They also then go to the crime labs and test all of the evidence so they can figure out clues and/ or answers to the crime. Pursuing a career as a criminologist is an intriguing choice for one who wants mentally challenging situations, uses cutting edge technology, and is personally fulfilling. Allowing oneself to be a criminologist; there are many mentally challenging situations. Joe Kenda from “Homicide Hunter” on Investigation Discovery, says that this field is “very intense work.” Criminologists work about 40 hours a week, and there were exactly 806,400 challenging jobs offered in 2014. There is a lot of problem solving. The investigators go step by step to solve the homicides. They have to think things through and put all the evidence together. This job could change one's life.
