It is critical to know how to handle the situation you could be in when you are involved in a crash. If you handle everything correctly, it will make a monumental difference as to what may happen to you and / or the other person involved. It will make a just as big of a difference as to what may happen to you and / or the other person involved if you handle everything incorrectly. There was a crash summary posted in 2016 by the Department of Public Safety and the results were shocking. In that year alone, there were a total of 62,471 crashes recorded. Out of all those crashes, 26,738 people were injured and 281 people were killed. It was mathematically figured out that a crash happens every eight minutes in the year 2016. It is a third degree felony if you don’t stop after a crash, so be sure that the first thing you do is stop.

The next step is scan your surroundings. In this, you are checking to see the damage done and if anybody is critically injured. If there is someone injured, do not attempt to move them unless it is more dangerous to leave them where they are. You must make sure that as a driver you are required to transport or make arrangements for injured people to get to the hospital if they request it or if you see that treatment is necessary.

The next step is clearing the way for traffic. You must then immediately contact the police and inform them of any injuries or death. You must also contact them if there was equal to or more than 1,500 dollars in
