Provisions for People with Disabilities in Soccer In this essay I will look at how Soccer is provided for in Lisburn from Junior level to senior level. I will investigate to see if there is any provision for those people with disabilities. I will look at each gender and see how each is provided for. After looking at my area, I will then look at soccer at international level and see how it is developed and how those with disabilities are provided for. The National Governing Board for soccer in N.Ireland is the I.F.A. ''The Irish soccer Association recognises all facets of the community and how people regardless of age, gender, religion and ability enjoy soccer. Alongside youth and women's soccer, the development of soccer for people with special needs is an integral part of the I.F.A's development strategy.... The I.F.A strives to provide every player with a disability the opportunity to participate and enjoy the beautiful game of soccer.'' (official I.F.A website) As you can read, the I.F.A's main aim is to promote soccer to all people, that includes disabled people and women. They provide soccer to all ages, from grass roots through to international level.
