According to sources at Walmartsores.com, total sales for the corporation totaled $419 billion. Their profit per minute, per day was $30,363. The average annual pay for full time employee is $24,440. Regardless of that, there are few full-time employees at their stores. This data shows that the corporation can more than afford to pay their workers a higher wage and at minimum provide its employees with better benefits. (Fisher 382)
The Wal-Mart workers oppose the corporations “systematic squeezing of its employees to maximize profit.” They had enough and they feel that the corporation has gone too far to maintain their everyday low prices.
