Topic: The Health Risks of Perfumed Products
General Purpose Statement: To inform classmates that perfumed products are harmful.
Specific Purpose Statement: To persuade and motivate classmates to stop using harmful perfumed products.
Thesis Statement: When anything is applied on the skin, all of its ingredients absorb into the applicant’s body, which means, when applied, the harmful ingredients perfumed products get into the body, causing it harm.

Attention Getting Device: Would you imagine an average individual uses up to 2-3 times perfumed products per day? Do you know that every time you bath or shower you wash all toxins on your skin into the water system? Are you aware that the nanoparticles used perfumed products have a potential to denature beneficial skin bacteria and soil microbe? Hey! Surprisingly, but true, the U.S. federal government does not need any health studies or pre-market analysis on personal care products (Sharps, 2013). Accordingly, many perfumed products in the market supposedly contain reproductive toxins, carcinogens, among other risky chemicals to good health. Besides, the bloodstream about up to about 60% of what we apply on our skin.
