With football coming to life, there had to be a person or multiple people officiating the game to ensure that the players did not break the rules and keep the playing field even. When any sport comes to my mind, the first thing that comes to my mind is the players, then the game and then the people that are reffing the game. When the game of football is fully laid out, the persons who determine the game and keep it in line are always going to be cautious on what to call. There have been times that, as a referee, you are the one that can make or break the game. The referee has a very simple job, to make sure the game goes well and that the game is played correctly. If the ref does not run with the player receiving or running the ball, then they cannot tell where he is down or if he stepped out. The ref will not accurately know where to mark the ball on the field after the play is over. After the player scores, then the ref must get the ball and ask on which side of the field the team would want to have the ball. From what the team tells the referee, then the ref must redo step one and watch to see if there is movement anywhere on the field before the ball is snapped. The next step after the team scores is to do a kickoff. A team must to do a kickoff even if they do not make the two-point conversion or if they miss or make a field goal. On kickoff, the ref will blow the whistle to make sure that the players are in a legal formation and to see if the kicking team is behind the kicker.
