How are your neighbors with you? You are lucky if they treat you as a member of their family, but what about if it is the contrary? What about if they treat you as a thing not as a human? If this is your situation, I know how you are feeling. I know it because I am living this kind of life. In other words, I do not get along with my neighbors. From the day I moved into my house, I have had to deal with their unfriendly, dirty, and noisy way of living.
First of all, my neighbors are very unfriendly people, and that is why they are hated. For example, during the day when I see them, they do not say hello to me. Sometimes, I try to have a conversation with them, but they always ignore me or give me a cold look. Since the day they ignore me, I began to hate them for being the way they are. In addition, my neighbors are not only mean with me, but with my children, too. Sometimes, when they are playing in front of their house, my neighbors come out and tell them to leave using a filthy language that scare my children.
Second, the awful thing is not only that my neighbors are unfriendly, but they are dirty, too. For example, during the week, they often throw their trash in front of my house. Although, whenever I see it, I always clean it, but later they throw more. They are irresponsible people who do not care about others around them. Moreover, their yard looks like a jungle with empty cans and bottles and other trash among the big grass that is growing. Why do not they care about it? How lazy they are! Perhaps, they do not know the meaning of the word ?gclean.?h
Finally, the other thing that makes my neighbors mean, besides being unfriendly and dirty, is that they are very noisy. They have three children and the smallest, the baby, is the one that makes all the noise during the day. He is always crying because he is hungry or because he wants something. Why do not his parents try to lull him? Besides the baby, they also have one big dog that barks all the time. For example, the other day I was going to study, but then it began to bark, and thanks to its harmful noise, I could not concentrate on what I was doing.
The house was often vandalized and the children were faced with hostility as they walked
Based on observations, Hispanics dominate the neighborhood with Caucasians coming close to to the range of neighbors. The neighborhood is relatively middle and working class because rent is at a range that is a bit costly compared to an apartment complex, but less than townhouses in the city of Cypress. I arrived at this conclusion because, my family used to live in a townhouse community, but we had to move out because rent was too expensive to handle. The public life of the neighborhood is generally quiet. However, there is an area in the middle of the neighborhood that has regularly street interaction provided for the neighborhood. An outdoor pool is open during the summer for people to enjoy in the California heat. A fenced basketball court and playground is next to the pool where children and teens come and play with others. Lastly, an indoor banquet room near the manager office is provided for homeowners to reserve for any special occasion such as birthdays and baby showers. As mentioned before, the neighborhood is relatively quiet, but since the homes are tight side by side one other people are able to hear conversations in homes if they were speaking loudly enough. There are no homeless people present in the neighborhood since it is bricked wall throughout the perimeter. People walking around the neighborhood can be seen through their homes and regularly monitored by the
Malala started her heroic journey when she started blogging under a pen name “Gul Makai” how life is with the Taliban for the BBC. She knew that by doing this she was taking a risk, but for her, the risk was worth it if she could get girls to have an education. She was able to go back to school when
Conflicting feelings among neighbors can create mistrust, and resentment.” (Wood). the neighborhood neighborhood leave anything there neighbor says anything having to do with the community. Therefore, these people don 't feel safe in their own neighborhood and
Eventually, my family fully moved to the farm around June of 2013, there was so much work to be done. The previous owners had twenty three cats, two pet raccoons, and three dogs. They had made such a mess with the place. The breezeway had the smell of raccoons and cat pee in it but there was an even bigger mess with landscaping due to the last owners negligence.
"Neighbor" is here a metaphor for two people who are emotionally close to each other. "Good fences make good neighbors", is a line the author emphasizes by using it two times. The "neighbor" says the line while the main character does not agree with it. He can not see that there is something between them they need to be "walling in or walling out".
Her father is an educational activist who sensed that there was something special about his daughter, later encouraging her to express herself and opinions freely and to have a voice of her own. Malala started to fight for education rights in her country in 2008 when she was just 11 and she addressed the local press club in Peshawar and talked about how the Taliban took away her simple right of education then she started a blog for the BBC Urdu where she talked about the Taliban which was a move that motivated the Taliban and on the 9th of October a Taliban gunman shot her in the head. The bullet went through her head and neck to the end of her shoulder. Malala eventually survived the shooting and not only did it motivate her to be a role model to other girls who are or were suffering of the oppression of the Taliban but she fought for what was right and the 9th of October was just the start of the journey of a great hero who will never be forgotten for standing up for her rights and most importantly other’s rights. The second person who I also consider a powerful woman and a hero for many. She is
This distasteful habit of envying their neighbors and living through them is very harmful towards their relationship, causing lack of self worth in themselves by impersonating their neighbors, not interacting physically unless they’ve just role-played and aren’t feeling like themselves, and going through the experience individually causing a bridge between the two. Typical average couples do not romanticize the relationships of their neighbors, only those who are envious and
It is my memory of first year in the United States. Back then, I was a between 16 and 17 years old girl who would be called, ‘fob,’ which means ‘fresh off the boat.’ I was quite shy, not fluent in English, exotic looking and nervous but excited at the same time. Coming to the U.S. all by myself, leaving behind familiar culture, friends and family was quite challenging at such a young age, but I was all ready to endure hardship and obstacles of language barrier, cultural difference and loneliness. However, the trouble that pushed me into the well of suffering that I could not see the bottom came from the most unexpected source. It was my host family; they were white with a middle-class background, living in a rural area. They seemed like nice and friendly people at first. They brought me and my roommate to various events and places where I can learn American culture, helped me learn English, taught us the basic manner accepted in the U.S. and even celebrated my birthday. Nevertheless, they had a contradicting side as well. The family had eccentrically strict house rules which gave us heavy house chore, and eventually it led them to treat my roommate and me like housekeepers in the
"Neighbors is a short story written by Raymond Carver in 1988. It is from the collection of short stories "Short cuts".
Later he started a service team called WIN Westerly Innovations Network. Then later he collected 5,000 pounds of e-waste and, According to www.takepart.com “He's overseen the recycling of 300,000 pounds of e-waste.” He also fixed up the old broken computers and then sent them to less developed countries to media centers. He has made seven media centers for kids in less developed countries. In his town in Rhode Island he passed a law to make it illegal to dump or burn
Move forward! Get Up! The voice in your head keeps nagging at you from time to time never truly leaving you alone. It comes and goes remaining you just how precious live is and how you have to live life to the fullest or one day you will look back and wonder what could have been. In life there are always going to be people who disappoint you, betray you, or use you but it's up to you to see who is worth being apart of your life. For me, I had to learn the hard way around that. I know that every family has their issues, but the difference is how well they communicate which is the key to resolving all problems. You would expect that from friends or strangers, but you would be surprise that it happens in families too. My family was never good at communicating which led to tragic events in my life.
Next, walkers with vicious dogs in public are irritating. For example, the dog could be dangerous and harm someone if it is in a bad mood. Another example is that if you ask the owner to move further, the owner refuses. The people would want the dog further from them because they are dangerous and the people’s children might go near the dog and it will bite. Lastly, most owners of the vicious dogs do not control their dogs well, and this might frighten the people and their children. Some owners do not care that much, and that is probably why they walk vicious dogs, to scare off people. Public signs are there to be obeyed and followed by for a better community, but some people do not follow them.
Privacy is extremely important to have in your life and it helps keep you sane! That’s why I am so unbelievably thankful that the bedroom doors in my apartment have locks on them for our own privacy. I have three roommates, so including me, that’s makes for four girls in one tiny apartment space constantly seeing each other every single day. Don’t get me wrong, I love my roommates with all my heart! But, sometimes, you just got to get the heck away from them! Sometimes roommates drive you up a wall, and that has happened many times throughout my first year of living with them. That’s why I love my warm, cozy, and remote bedroom that happens to contain a lock. Insert the heart eyes. My roommates don’t have a key, so there’s no way of them getting in; isn’t that just lovely? Now, I’m no antisocial person who hates hanging out with their roommates. In fact, I hang out with them all the time, and I consider them to be my best friends! But, you know, sometimes you just need that space away from them in order to stay…mentally stable (for lack of better words, of course). Also, my roommates like to be
Damage appears each year so the neighbors walk along the wall to repair the gaps and fallen stones that have not been created by either of the two neighbors. Frost then gives the reader an uncertain question as to why should neighbors need walls anyway. Why do good fences make good neighbors? If one or both neighbors had cattle or something that could do possible damage then a fence would be reasonable. However, it is pointed out in the poem that there are no cattle. So, there must be some sort of human distrust between one of the neighbors. What is the distrust? Frost doesn’t let the reader know. Perhaps it is an age difference that results in extreme points of view or tradition. Or maybe there is a religious bias about the other. One neighbor wants to separate and possibly his family. The wall prevents the evil of indifference from entering. The phantom of discomfort seems to be kept in check by this rock structure.
