The issue I have chosen to discuss in this paper is Abortion due to the very drastic positions of being Pro-Life or Pro-Choice. A democrat may look at the issue and, given a more liberal point of view, be Pro-Choice. A republican might be Pro-Life given a much more conservative view. “About half of all pregnancies are unintended and because of this, four in ten of all pregnancies are aborted,” states (Operation Rescue). In this paper I will discuss the views of both parties in order to understand each party’s position of the issue. Democrats believe simply that Abortion should be a choice that the mother should be able to decide. (On the Issues) states that the position they stand on towards abortion includes the strong support in the Supreme …show more content…
Most religions/churches are completely agains then idea of abortion but what factors should be taken into consideration? Pro-Choice democrats might argue that there are times where it is medically unsafe for a woman to give both. If the child endangers the mother in her ability to her safely deliver without complications there may not be a goof reason more this. Rape, as stated above is another complication if in favor of Pro-Choice in order to protect the mother from a traumatic 9 month reminder of a traumatic day. For the rest of her life she may have to live with seeing the face of her attacker in the face of her son or …show more content…
A child is a miracle which should be cherished regardless of how it was created. This is true, except for the reality that those who make such a statement have most likely not endured a rape and have no idea how traumatic the experience can be. They might also argue that in the case of a medical emergency where either the mother or the child must be saved, you save the life of the being in better standing to survive the medical emergency. It it seems unlikely that the child might live, the mother should be saved and vice
The current issues concerning a woman’s right to an abortion include the debates between pro-life and pro-choice groups that promote either restrictions or extensions to a woman’s ability to receive abortions respectively, along with debate about the role that the government should play in the process of limiting or extending rights. Pro-life groups argue many points against abortion including the beliefs that life begins at conception, adoption is a viable alternative to abortion, the procedures sometimes cause medical complications, a...
Is an egg chicken or an egg? How many of you had asked this question when you were little?
So in other words they believe it is that woman’s body and no one has the right to say what they can and cannot do with it, or it would be unjust. The supporters are pro-choice because they do not believe there is any reason why a woman should have to face all the consequences from something she did not do alone, it takes two people to conceive a baby. If a guy can get a woman pregnant and then disappear from their life, there is no reason why she should be the one responsible for everything, the woman should get the same advantage as the man. Also, in the case of rape and incest the supporters believe that it is best for a child to not be born at all than to be born hated or unwanted because they are a constant reminder of the terrible incident that has happened, by a mother who is coerced to have the child because she has no choice, and not because she wants the
Pro-choice versus pro-life argues over the issue of what should be the right stance when dealing with the life of an unborn child. From the perspective of a person who is pro-choice, they believe that “individuals have unlimited autonomy with respect to their own reproductive systems, just as long as they don’t violate the independence of others.” Pro-choice also argues that the government should not have the right to decide whether a woman should exterminate her pregnancy or not. From their viewpoint, they believe that what should be legal in the eyes of the government is contraception use, celibacy, abstinence, and abortion for the first two trimesters of pregnancy. On the stance of pro-life, they argue that the government has a right to protect this regardless of any situation.
When you read this dialogue do you know what abortion is? If you are like me then you are definitely confused! Like how do you even put yourself in this situation? You have the ability to search websites and figure out more information. While reading and searching how does an abortion affect the woman’s Body? Will an Abortion Affect me being able to have a child in the future?
...ions over her own body; whether it is parenthood, adoption, contraception, or yes, abortion. After all, it is entirely plausible for people to be personally pro-life but politically pro-choice – this suggests that they respect each individuals’ rights over his or her own body and recognize that each woman should be allowed to have options. Regardless of whether or not she chooses to have the child, it is the fact that she has a choice that is crucial, and it is imperative that each woman have the freedom of individual autonomy. In order for this to occur, abortion must continue to be legal. Ultimately, being pro-choice is not necessarily advocating the use of abortion – it is about ensuring that abortion is legal so that women may have the option to exercise their right to individual autonomy and make the decisions that best reflects their stance in life.
This issue of abortion also belongs to larger issues such as religious and ethical. People with the religious background have a set of values based on the Bible and believe that pro-life should be the only stand people take into consideration in order to protect human life and keep the baby alive. The other class is ethical. From this stand people can choose whether or not they believe abortion is the right thing to do and can make their own choice based on their values, regardless of what religion they are. Because abortion is such a widespread issue, it is crucial that we come up with an agreement on what is best and what steps are necessary in getting to that agreement.
Abortion is an issue which separates the American public, especially when it involves the death of children and women. When an abortion occurs, the medical doctor removes the fetus from the pregnant woman. This particular act has separated the public. Many believe that abortion is not morally and ethically correct. On the other hand, some people believe that carrying and delivering the unborn child will hinder the safety of the mother, then an abortion is needed. Each view has its own merit in the debate. This debate has separated the public into two sections: pro-life and pro-choice. A pro-lifer opposes abortion, whereas, a pro-choicer believes that the decision to abort the child should be left to the mother because she is the one carrying the child. In this paper, there will be topics that will be discussed concerning pro-life and pro-choice. I hope at the end of this paper, the reader is able to gain more knowledge concerning each topic. Every woman has the right to control her own body.
One of the most controversial and highly debatable subjects in the minds of the American public today is the topic of abortion. While abortion is seen as murder to some, others look upon it as an extremely safe procedure, offering numerous benefits to the recipient, predominantly being the right to choose. The argument has long been increasingly prevalent in the American political scene for decades, and is now being brought into new light as medical practices advance and technical flaws are effectively worked out. What cannot be altered, however, is the reality that what is being disposed of is in fact, a developing human life. It is this fact that the pro-life argument is based upon. The abortion debate not only revolves around the overall legality of the procedure, but also the conditions taking place that would condone such an operation.
Abortion, which has been debated for centuries and will continue to be fought upon for centuries to come, is a hot issue among social, political, and religious entities. This research paper will inform the reader about abortion, using scholarly journals to define abortion, specifically when a fetus becomes a human being, and the reasons for and against abortion to persuade the reader why abortion should be legal. What does it mean to be Pro-Life or Pro-Choice? Pro-Life means those who oppose abortion for any reason,
The murder of innocents or, a woman’s right to choose; the Pro-Life/ Pro-Choice Debate, Which side are you on? The issue of abortion has been a topic of interest not only in the medical world but also in the political and religious worlds as well. The pro-life argument states that at conception the fetus is a baby and terminating it is taking a life. The pro-choice argument states that the unborn fetus, not baby, is just a blob of tissue and your terminating a pregnancy not a child. Both sides of the argument will be discussed in this essay along with the views of the church, politicians, women who have had abortion, and even a women who use to worked for Planned Parenthood.
America is synonymous with freedom. The pursuit of freedom is a journey that we as American’s find ourselves challenged by with each growing generation. Ideological challenges such as the issue of abortion define today’s journey as Americans. There are different issues that come up when the subject abortion is mentioned. the arguments of being “pro-life” vs “pro-choice”. Before reviewing the main debates on abortion, one should understand the accepted definition by both sides of the debate. Abortion is the act of the termination of a pregnancy after, accompanied by, resulting in, or closely followed by the death of the embryo or fetus. Pro-choice is favoring or supporting the legal right of women and girls to choose whether or not to continue a pregnancy to term. Pro-life is supporting the right to life of the unborn or against abortion. The debate of “pro-life” and “pro-choice” has clearly become more complex within the last 30 to 40 years. When examining the issues on abortion, one has to look at its history and main issues that surround the subject matters of abortion, whether religion is a factor and if the government should have a say in a woman’s choice.
One of the most controversial issues in this day and age is the stance people take on abortion. The two main positions that people take are either of pro-choice or pro-life; both sides, although polar opposites, tend to refer to both the issue of morality and logical rationale. The pro-life side of the debate believes that abortion is an utterly immoral practice that should be abolished. On the contrary, abortion should remain a legal procedure because it is a reproductive right; its eradication would not only take away the pregnant person’s autonomy, but would also put more children in financially unstable homes and the adoption system, and would cause an increase in potentially fatal, unsafe abortions.
Abortions have always been a very controversial topic. Over the years we continue to fight for or against it. One can say that is one of the most talked and argued topic in the United States. An abortion is when a woman terminates her pregnancy before the fetus is viable using various of methods. Some argue that abortions should be illegal and considered murder, while others, from a religious point of view, say that no one has the right to take away the life of a person, in this case the fetus. However, others insist, that abortions are a basic women’s right.
