There is no denying the huge impact the printing press had on our world. So many different things have come from the printing press however the most important thing has probably been the advancements in exploration and geography. The printing press was able to spread the word about new discoveries made by explorers and because of that, more people became educated on that subject. A big example of that would be Christopher Columbus. By putting the pieces together, it also resulted in a better and more accurate world map and just maps in general. Christopher Columbus’ discovery of the Americas was a huge moment in history but it just wouldn’t be nearly as big without the printing press. Columbus wrote a letter and it ended up getting put through the printing press process. In document 6 it states that “Columbus is believed to have written much of the letter on his return voyage from the Americas.” This shows that the people who read this must have been educated about the Americas, which would have been foreign to them at the time. In document 2 it shows the location of the printing presses in Europe in 1500. By the looks of the map there must be at least 200 printing presses stretched across Europe. By just making an inference, if there is that many printing presses across Europe, then people from all across Europe must be learning about different parts of their continent that even they can’t travel to. This is later proven in Document 5 when you see in the map that the religions start to change a little bit in areas with more printing presses. Meaning they must be learning more about other places in Europe. Although the main focus may be on religion, this would also give people an idea of what things are like in these different
