1. Chapter-1
Introduction
1.1 Introduction: -
• A Hobbing is a machining process for gear cutting, cutting splines, and cutting sprockets on a hobbing machine, which is a special type of milling machine. The teeth or splines are progressively cut into the workpiece by a series of cuts made by a cutting tool called a hob. Compared to other gear forming processes it is relatively inexpensive but still quite accurate, thus it is used for a broad range of parts and quantities.
• It is the most widely used gear cutting process for creating spur and helical gears and more gears are cut by hobbing than any other process as it is relatively quick and inexpensive.
• Hobbing is one of the most fundamental processes in gear manufacturing. Its productivity

2. To know the theoretical and practical concept of Gear Hobbing machine.
3. To learn basic concept of Gear Hobbing machine.
4. To understand the basic working principle of Gear Hobbing machine.
1.3 Elements of Gear Hobbing machine: -
All gear hobbing machines, whether mechanical or CNC, consist of five common elements, which are listed below.
• A work spindle to rotate the work piece
• A cutter spindle to rotate the cutting tool, the hob
• A means to rotate the work spindle and cutter spindle with an exact ratio, depending on the number of teeth of the gear and the number of threads of the hob
• A means to traverse the hob across the face of the work piece
• A means to adjust the center distance between the hob and work piece for different size work pieces and hobs

Conclusion
We maintain this machine to future acknowledgement to the student to get the basic knowledge of manual gear hobbing machine. This machine is not properly working therefore we chose this machine as our project maintenance of Gear hobbing machine of our College
* The primary purpose of the clutch is to smoothly transmit power from the engine to the jackshaft and to remove the connection when the engine is idling so that the machine is not always rolling.

Gears are considered wheels with teeth, sometimes called a cog. When the gears come together they are able to make things turn. You need to have at least two cogs to do any work with a gear. Gear come in many different sizes which help them do work. The purpose for gears is to be able to motion from one moving object to another. Gears are used for many reasons such as to increase or increase the rotational speed, to move rotational motion to a different axis, or to keep the rotation of two axis moving at the same time. There are many different types of gears used for different things examples of some would be spur gear, helical gear, worm gear, internal gear etc. Spur gears are one of the most commonly used gears since they’ve been around the longest. Spur gears have teeth that run vertical to the face of the gear. Helical gears are actually similar to the spur gear the difference between them is that the teeth are not perpendicular to the face of the gear, and tend to run smoother due to the larger amount of teeth it has. The basic trimmer works by the engine driving a multi-bearing supported hardened steel shaft housed in an aluminium tube through a centrifugal clutch this shaft is connected to a “head” that holds a nylon line that spun at high revolutions per minute (RPM). This nylon line then cuts the grass by hitting the blades of grass at high speed, this cause the grass to be severed at the point of impact. Thus trimming the grass.
Specifically, on a standard five speed, the gears are as follows: Neutral is located in the middle of the panel. From neutral, gears must be changed accordingly. First gear is found to the far upper left, and is used to get the car moving from a stopped position. Down left is second gear, used for speeds up to twenty-five miles per hour. Third gear is located upper middle of the panel, used for speeds from about twenty-five to forty miles per hour. Fourth gear is found at the lower middle and would be good for between forty and fifty miles per hour. Fifth gear is found to the far upper right, and is used for higher driving speeds such as on the freeway. Last but not least is reverse, which is to the far bottom right, used for backing up. These gears must be maneuvered the exact same way each time the automobile is driven.

These reels usually have a series of gears that turn the line collecting devices several times for each crank of the handle.
To start my project we first had to buy some supplies such as vinyl pads, rubber tips, 3ft long and ¾ in. wide dowelling and a 3ft, 1 ¼ in wide handrail. Then, we began making my cane. First, my grandpa explained to me what a table saw is and then demonstrated how I would be using it to make my handle. The first thing we did was set the miter gauge at 90 degrees and put a magnet block on the table vertically from the miter gauge and 4 ¼ in away. Now we turn the saw on. I have to firmly hold the handrail against the miter gauge and slide it over until it is against the magnet block. Next I slowly slide the miter gauge and handrail up going past the magnet block and then over the blades. Once my handrail is cut I can turn off the blades. After that we head over to the stationary sander with my 4 ¼ in handle. Before starting my grandpa instructs me on what it does, why we will be using i...
Anybody and everybody can become an industrial machinery mechanic; especially, those who are passionate about getting their hands plastered in motor oil, grease, and other mechanical lubricants. These people will more than likely be ecstatic about getting into industrial machinery mechanics. They need to be able to put in one hundred ten percent of their effort into becoming an industrial machinery mechanic. An industrial machinery mechanic’s overall objective on the job is to stop a mechanical error before it happens. An industrial machinery mechanics are often caught repairing, maintaining, and fabricating machinery.

Hubbell Incorporated is a company in the manufacturing industry that primarily produces a wide variety of electronic and electrical products. Initially Hubbell Incorporated offered a specialized stand that was accompanied with a moveable cutter. The cutter was used in the retail world primarily for wrapping items. The product was a very successful product because it is still used by companies today. A few years after inventing the specialized stand with a moveable cutter, the owner of Hubbell invented a tapping machine. The tapping machine was so efficient in the era that it was invented that there was a very large demand for the product from manufacture companies. The products that Hubbell produce has changed a bit over
Each of the six basic styles of robot used in industry today were designed with different applications in mind. Some of the robots were designed for assembly, others are more suited for simple pick and place applications, while a select few are capable of carrying heavy loads over a large area.
Therefore, to determine the material handling system is very important for reduce cost and increased profits. The fact material handling systems represent a major part of the total manufacturing cost make necessity to choose adequately the material handling system when a manufacturing system is designed. One of the most successful applications of experts systems is selection of equipment for material handling (SEMH). SEMH lookups the knowledge bottom to be able to suggest the degree associated with mechanization, and also the type of product coping with equipment to become utilized, according to some traits. Fisher, Farber, and Kay (1998) have introduced MATHES: material handling equipment selection expert systems for the selection of a material handling equipment from 16 possible choices. MATHES as well as 172 principles takes course, product stream quantity, product sizing's in addition to distance concerning sectors because variables.
