The short story "The Cask of Amontillado" by Edgar Allan Poe is an interesting story about revenge and the power of pride. Montressor (the main character) finds himself being insulted by an acquaintance and thus he declares revenge. The ingenuity and astuteness of the main character allows him to use Fortunato's weakness to his advantage by luring him into the catacombs and promising a rare wine as a reward. Unfortunately, Fortunato becomes intoxicated with other fancy wine and is unable to see through the trap that has been set, thus falling to his death.
